However, I was Catholic for 20 years. I'm familiar enough with the confessional.
LOL...big can o'worms there. Let it suffice to say that simply confessing is insufficient for forgiveness...it's missing the little bit called repentance.
If I punched you in the nose and said "sorry" but was clearly insincere would you forgive me anyway? God knows when someone is sincere and when they are not. If one is not sincere then it's a waste of time to offer a faux apology to Him.
