Man and Two Women Charged With Producing More Than 1 Million Pieces of Child Pornography

PHILADELPHIA — A man and two women have been accused of producing sexually explicit videos of children after an investigation that also revealed the man sexually abused a 3-month-old, authorities said Thursday.

John Worman, 39, of Colwyn, was charged in a federal indictment with 51 counts of producing and possessing child pornography.

Dorothy Prawdzik, 43, of Drexel Hill, and Concetta Jackson, 44, of Collingdale, were charged in the federal indictment with helping Worman produce the child sex videos.

Prawdzik helped Worman videotape the children by undressing them and posing them in front of hidden cameras, authorities said.

Police said they recovered more than 1 million images from Worman's computer, including thousands of videos that Worman produced of himself engaged in sexual acts with children.

Worman has been in custody since February 2006 and is being held in the Delaware County Jail in lieu of $4 million bail. The two women were arraigned Thursday in federal court in Philadelphia.

During a news conference Wednesday, U.S. Attorney Pat Meehan said John Worman had allegedly installed a hidden video camera in the bathroom of a home used as a babysitting service.

Meehan said the camera recorded several children as they undressed, showered and used the toilet.

Meehan said that same camera videotaped also Worman sexually assaulting eight other children, including five he forced to engage in sex acts. Meehan said the abuse began as early as 1997 and one of the youngest victims was only three-moths-old.

Kind of sloppy reporting. What they apparently produced was a few hundred movies. Now if every frame of every movie from beginning to end is counted as a distinct picture, then it might add up to a million.

I went to the complete article and read it. It stated that four children were involved, but not if the women indicted were the mothers, or anything about the present safety, treatment, or therapy of the children.

I don't care what horrible things happen to these panderers. But I'm wondering where the children are, now.

I'd be pretty sure that state law cloaks all that with secrecy. I hope the Pennsylvania child services, or whatever they are called there, doesn't end up losing them to other abusive situations. Children with problem behaviors, if induced by these contacts, would be more difficult to place. This is the situation where we hear the occasional horror story of kids in cages or shut in closets or whatnot.

What is really scary is a school bus driver was arrested in that sting. My paranoid mind is wondering if that is where they got the children from.

A peds psyche nurse and I were talking this week about the kids we see (granted, I'm dealing with growth and weight issues). But we both agreed that many of these kids, by the time they are 6, 7, 8 etc are pretty much trainwrecks from the physical, mental and sexual abuse.

Most of them will be in and out of the system until the day they die. Their lives are pretty much destroyed (we agreed on that). To be suffering from PTSD at 8, suicidal, totally anti-social etc. is a living hell.

SO, it's like murder, but worse. Because the victim keeps living in misery, fear etc.

To the nurse and me, the death penalty is very logical.
