If the NFL is involved, you may rest assured that the issue is money. Any BS about safety, alcohol control, etc. is just that - BS.
Corporate "partners" will have food tents, stands, etc. set up where you they can gouge everyone for $8 hot dogs and $10 beers.
In addition, it frees up the real estate for TV trucks, tents for private corporate parties.
Too bad if you're a football fan and pay through the nose during the season only to be asked to pay up again when the team you root for makes it to the big game.

At some point lives have to be lived as normal. Tailgating is about as American as it gets and stopping it for things that may happen is getting ridiculous.

I'm 13 miles from Dolphin Stadium, to its northwest. (Google really needs to update their information. It hasn't been called Pro Player Stadium for a while.)
I'm not sure why they're banning tailgating. Are they afraid of drunk Bears/Colts fans starting things? They should worry about the people inside the stadium, then.

Here is what surrounds Dolphins Stadium for about more than a mile around. Not sure if there's much in the way of private property. Use Google Maps to zoom in. It looks like private houses all around the stadium.

It's all about $$$. I'm going to the game with a group of 7. Plus, we have paid $650 per person to attend a Super Bowl party at the stadium which starts at 2:00pm. I have no idea about the party details, but I'll be there.

this is what happens when you let women make decisions. Hey! I resent that! If it were me, I'd say to hell with this BS, go enjoy your tailgating!

Super Bowl is one huge target. Literally thousands could be wiped out while billions watched on tv around the globe.

Well, I guess there's something to be said for watching the Super Bowl from Vegas, then. Anyone want me to put some action on the game? I'll be at the Mirage...
