YOU ONE ISSUE VOTERS ARE GOING TO LOSE THE ELECTION FOR ALL REPUBLICANS!

LOL! Rudy is a Democrat. Can't you tell?

And the "one issue" of 1.5 million murders per year is a fairly important one.

It's gonna be a long, hard road for Rudy Giuliani to explain away his past actions and statements. No one can make such wholesale flip-flops and get away with it. His position on abortion alone should be enough for over half the GOP to question his sincerity.

And I am still waiting to hear from one of his staffers --- er, supporters --- about what Rudy has really done to qualify him as a "hero", or "strong on the War on Terror". The evidence just isn't there!

"... YOU ONE ISSUE VOTERS ARE GOING TO LOSE THE ELECTION FOR ALL REPUBLICANS!"

Sorry, it is more than one issue for most of us. I will try once again to remind you that the base of the GOP opposes his views on: Abortion, Partial Birth Abortion, Amnesty for Illegals, Homosexual Rights including Civil Unions/Marriages, Gun Control (actually confiscation, as we saw in New York City), Stem Cell Research using unborn babies, and more.

I would never personally get an abortion. People really shouldn't. There are always the "what if" situations, I'm sure. However, I do not believe that the answer to abortion is to outlaw it. When it was previously outlawed, it led to blackmarket abortions, women hurting themselves to get rid of the fetus, and opened up an illegal business for people that were completey unqualified to be doing medical procedures. People who want an abortion will get one. I think the answer is educating people to make the decision not to get an abortion. Making it illegal is just too dangerous.

Also all the blame is not on the woman. There are a lot of men pressuring their girlfriends (or affairs) to get an abortion. How about some support instead?

Rudy is scum. If he was not already not getting my vote, he is certainly not getting it now. Hey RUDY!!! ABORTION IS MURDER. Did you ask the unborn child if it wanted to be murdered?? We worry about the civil rights of everyone, what about the unborn child's RIGHT TO LIVE?!?!?!?!? Scum bag.

"...the GOP mayor of the nation's largest city believes his party's philosophical underpinnings are more in tune with the pro-abortion point of view. "

The GOP's only "philosophical underpinning" these days is to abandon their base, their charter and the Constitution. So, in a sense, Rudy's correct.

I've read posts snickering about Rudy's prostrate cancer. Calling Rudy supporters "enemies of the state" Accused of supporting the homosexual agenda. What would you call that?

Another happy day on Free Republic? Sorry, could not resist. You ought to try the immigration or the creation/evolution threads if you think these are bad. They make this look like a narcoleptics anonymous meeting.

Thanks for the ping. It makes little difference that the article if from 2001. Rudy will never reinvent himself as a zebra cannot change its stripes.

Rudy Giuliani is a party-splitter. Repubilcans should avoid him like the plague if we know what's good for us.

"What would you call that?"

If those statements are not being taken out of context, I would call that unnecessary. However, debating who is going to be the GOP candidate, is what primaries are for, and I think the vast majority just want to see the best candidate possible. After all, I like my brothers, heck I love my Mother, but I couldn't vote for them to represent the GOP! It's not personal.

"And the "one issue" of 1.5 million murders per year is a fairly important one."

Yes it is, however, it isn't the only issue. More accurate, would be to say the one issue voters are the ones who wish to see Mr. Giuliani win the primaries, since the only issue he is strong on is National Security. That is a great one, but it isn't enough. We can do much better. Rudy is not a social or fiscal conservative. There is a lot more than "one issue" in the "cons" column.

Pro-abort savages recoil in horror if somebody lays a hand on a snail darter or a sperm whale whining about "endangered species".

Yet, they have no compunction about sucking out an unborn baby's brains or slashing it to death in its mother's womb, then flushing the baby's remains down the garbage disposal to get rid of it (common "legal" abortion procedures).

Rudy is RINO AND LIBERAL, DUH! And, because of his position on abortion, is there ANY doubt the type of judges he would appoint to the Supreme Court and judiciary -- ones that legislate from the bench?

Bush damaged the Republican party by abandoning the principles of limited government. Gulliani would further damage it by abandoning the principles of social conservatism and appoint of Constitutionalists to the judiary.

Gulliani is absolutly unaccepable as a GOP nominee.

You mean was he against it before he was for it or do you mean was he for it before he was against it?

He's got some splaining to do before this guy votes for him, period.
