My aunt and uncle sent this out to our family at 6:30 AM today. Carrie is my young cousin, a very gifted artist, and the second eldest among her siblings. She and her family are in Michigan.
Prayer reqeust from my aunt and uncle (Carrie is their granddaughter).
This morning on her way to work Carrie's car slid on the highway and into a tree. She has very bad injuries, especially to her head. Her brain is swelling and she is now in surgery. They plan to open her skull to allow for the swelling, and she is not responding. They don't give her parents a lot of hope. We are telling everyone so you can join us in praying for our dear Caroline. They called her parents about 7:45 this morning and they're at the hospital now.
Prayers for a dear girl, Carrie and her family!
Prayers continuing Gretchen. God bless and heal her and her family.
Good morning Gretchen,
Praise the Lord that His tender mercies are new every morning and that He hovers over Carrie today!
Amen and AMEN, Gretchen! Praying that powerful prayer along with you for Carrie!
Prayers for Carrie and her family.
I prayed through the night for Carrie, I hope you hear some good news. ~~Pandora~~

God Bless
Thank you - her parents got that advice last night, to take shifts, and her mom went home to rest (with what rest a mother can get at such a time).
Thank you for the update. I continue to hold her in my prayers. It's hard, but be patient.
I have always admired the serene calm with which my aunt and uncle (and that whole side of the family) have faced life. They instilled this in their daughter (Carrie's mother), and it has stood out to me from the first word of Carrie's accident and through all the updates: the family is not rattled, but trusting God and not panicking. But I know this is also due to the hundreds of prayers going up to heaven for them all. Deuteronomy 33:27 The eternal God is a dwelling place, And underneath are the everlasting arms; And He drove out the enemy from before you, and said, 'Destroy!'
Here's the:
Carrie's mother called this morning. Her dad stayed with Carrie in the ICU all night, as did his sister and her husband.About 10:30 last night her mom reported that Carrie's blood pressure is good, and the nurse told her dad she is fighting and strong. She had a CAT scan at 5 AM. She has two blood clots, but that isn't a concern at this time. She tolerated her paralyzing medicine.
Yesterday her heart rate was 90 and that was OK. In the afternoon it went up to 126, but it's coming down. It should be below 100.
A neighbor two doors from her parents' house is one of Carrie's doctors. He knows her well (the daughters are friends). He's there this morning.
They were warned that things can change quickly, so we keep Carrie and the family in our prayers.
Her mom said they've had many people come by, and that means a lot. Carrie's dad's boss came after work. He went to the impound yard to get valuables from Carrie's car. The police only took her purse. He said the car only looked damaged where she was hit. There was no blood in the car. He brought some art stuff from the back seat. She has been busy painting portraits and murals for people. Maybe she was delivering some work.
Someone said the accident scene just had some skid marks and it didn't look serious at all. Lots of people came from [...] where Carrie works.
Last night their neighbor-doctor told them they should take turns and not both stay at the hospital full time.
So that's another update. The first few days are a critical stage, of course.
Love, [my aunt and uncle]
Continued prayers!
Dear Howlin, thank you so much for pinging your list.
It is very relieving to know she is staying stable and the signs of her fighting for her own life are wonderfully encouraging.
