Just the fact that he has Monterrosa's support should take him a long way in this neck of the woods.

I've been eying him and his record before coughing up money (always as tough on me as for Jack Benny) but am about ready to put up instead of shutting up.

You're dead right. Hunter appears to have principled backbone and seems not to be a poll follower. He's strikes me as the kind of guy who will lead, like Reagan did. You'll either vote for him becasue you agree with him or you don't.

I don't believe he'll be the kind of guy that will take a poll, see how the media has shaped the issue, then develop a position that will capture a large segment of that poll.

Check out his website, he's pretty out front and specific with his ideas.

"There's nothing special about me," he said yesterday. "But there's something very special about the American people. And I'd like to serve the American people and lead this nation. I think this is a great country where ordinary people can be in positions of leadership. I'm pretty ordinary."

Great post - I think you ought to put that one up sometime as a vanity thread.

(always as tough on me as for Jack Benny)! :)

Like you, my interest in Hunter has been increasing rapidly, to the point that I decided to open my checkbook. He's got a real long consistent track record on coneservative principles unlike many of the other "republicans" running.

Hunter already has some deep-pocketed allies in South Carolina, including textile magnate Roger Milliken, who strongly supports Hunter's promise to protect U.S. manufacturers

He's not a free trader?

Please put me on Duncan Hunter ping list.

If I can I'll try to see him Monday. I think this is the guy I'm gonna work for, campaigning and manning the phone banks.

Hunter for president. I can see voting for him. Any guess who his VP could be? I'd love for Tancredo to get that spot, if not, then Tancredo for director of Homeland Security.

Same here, but I'm now satisfied he's the best man running. He's got my support, my contribution, a place on my tagline, and my willingness to volunteer.

Go Hunter '08!

Does he have enough charisma to win?

Who was the last congressman to win the Presidency without executive experience? Lincoln?
