Group Plans 'Terror Free' Gas Station in Omaha

OMAHA, Neb. — The is planning to open the nation's first "terror free" gas station in Omaha.

The Florida-based group claims U.S. dollars used to purchase gas made from oil funds terrorism. It urges Americans to only buy oil products that originate from countries that do not support terrorism.

Actually, the name is derived from the owners of the original station Mr. Krause & Mr. Gentle...KG Oil Co...and they grew the name out of that.

If you buy any oil product at all, you are supporting terrorists by increasing the effective demand for the products they sell.

Better yet, make it Foreign Free Oil.

Sure, that could be done. However, you would have to establish a entirely new infrastructure of exploration, production, transportation, refinement and distribution.

By the time you are done gas would cost $20.00 a gallon.

With today's petrochemical infrastructure it would be impossible to not have Middle Eastern or foreign oil in everyone's gas tank.

There's a chain of gas stations (Kwik-Fill) in Pennsylvania that uses only Penna crude for its gasoline. These Okies are NOT the first.

Unless these companies have created a closed loop production, transportation, refinement and distribution system if would be impossible to ensure that no Middle Eastern oil is part of the gas that they sell.

Yes of course.  Hopefully the investors behind this effort have considered these very basic points, and if they haven't we can all rest assured that there will be numerous forthcoming articles in the WSJ and the FT pointing out any disingenuousness in marketing, once this venture is actually up and running and can be properly analyzed as a financial entity.

That's great to hear!  It's nice to know that this is already a tested and proven marketing and financial effort.  I hope that everything is as they have advertised and that they will be royally successful.

Unfortunately there is no discussion of their sourcing at their web page, but at least they have a 'store locator' search function at their site and 300 locations.

Yeah, that's probably just the name of the store, anyway. I'll ask next time I fuel up who their gas supplier is. Thanks for the help.

That's great!  So it's definitely a proven and successful business model then. 

Too bad their company is listed at the Terror-free oil initiative's website as a company 'being researched'....hopefully that will be updated soon and Kwik-Fill will be placed in the left column along with Flying J and Sinclair.

I love Flying-J! I burn a lot of their gas, and they have the best corn dogs.

"sigh"  Unfortunately, the closest Flying J to the stoat cave is about 40 miles away, and there are no Sinclair or Kwik-Fill stations in The People's Republic of Washington State where I am imprisoned..

Corn dogs are an essential item in the Food Pyramid, ranking right up toward the top near chocolate, if my memory serves.  I now have concerns that my nutrition will suffer, being so far away from the Flying J corndogs.

I thought that there was already enough to worry about, what with terrorism and the Dems, but now there's this.

Yes, sigh. Chavez disgusts me. I liked one of the local Citgo stations for location and price. But I switched immediately when I found out about him and his gas.

To my vegetarian wife's deep dismay, I always stop for a tank of fuel and a corndog at the Flying J. The closest is 40 miles, and the second closest is between us and Long Island. Thus, it's a rare treat.

Who knows, maybe they ship?
