Pelosi's crew and Osama bin Laden share common goal
- Dinesh D'Souza

The Pelosi Democrats sometimes appear to be just as eager as Osama bin Laden for President Bush to lose his war on terror. Why do I say this? Because if the Pelosi Democrats were seeking Bush's success, then their rhetoric and actions now and over the past three years are pretty much incomprehensible. By contrast, if you presume that they want Bush's war on terror to fail, then their words and behavior make perfect sense.
Shortly before the November election, U.S. Rep. Nancy Pelosi spoke about the American effort to capture or kill bin Laden. "Even if he is caught tomorrow, it's five years too late," she said. "He has done more damage the longer he has been out there. But in fact, the damage that he has done is done. And even to capture him now I don't think makes us any safer."
From the point of view of new House Speaker Pelosi and her fellow liberal Democrats, bin Laden today is, well, a small problem.
Listen to Pelosi and her colleagues on the left speaking about Bush, however, and it's clear they regard him as a very big problem.
Sen. Robert Byrd compares Bush to Hermann Goering and the Nazis. Hillary Clinton accuses him of "turning back the clock on the 20th century ... systematically weakening the democratic tradition. ... There has never been an administration more intent upon consolidating and abusing power." Sen. Ted Kennedy charges that "no president in America's history has done more damage to our country than George W. Bush."
What emerges from these comments is the indignation gap -- the vastly different level of emotion that leftists and liberals employ...

Sounds like a serious mental condition.
It's right on target - the enemy within are the Democrats in Congress and the drive-by-media.
Thanks! I've always been suspicious about the quotes from Lincoln, etc. because they're always too perfect, too "modern". Until I've seen them in an old book instead of on the Internet, I'll be skeptical. (Bump for an article that'll come in handy)

I did not know that or that RFK was McCarthy's lawyer. I would love to read that one.
Guess teddy took after his dad...loving and working for the enemy.
Just yesterday I had a discussion about the demonRATS of old with an elderly person. I think she would tend to agree with you. When a third of the RATs are known members of the DSUSA and are now insisting on being called the "democratics" people should sit up and take note.
My post should have read as stated above.
Questioning the veracity of the quote only became an issue during the election cycle to beat a candidate over the head with it.
As I researched the issue, Cliff Hancuff is the only one I could find who claimed it was false. But, like most terrorists he doggedly pursued, stalked is more like it, anyone and everyone forcing them to "hear" him. He was appeased and live went on.
The claims made regarding the actual "birth" of the Lincoln quote were easy to rebut, but no one had the time or energy to fight it at the time.
When I made the like father, like son type of comment, I was referring to their allegiances to other entities than the USA. Not that they were both commies. Sorry for the confusion.

And the tradition continues, I see.
I guess I need to watch some old films. The McCarthy hearings are something I would be interested in.
Los Angeles and Baghdad have about the same area. There are more murders in Los Angeles than in Baghdad, even with the explosions. When those guys are done in Iraq, they should bring that big equipment to Pacoima, Sylmar, Van Nuys, Reseda and North Hollywood. Just blow off a few hundred rounds of 20 mm to get their attention. They might get married. Spanish speaking women like guys who are more noisy than they are:)
The book Treason by Ann Coulter is, in part, a fascinating history of the McCarthy era. It is well documented and to my knowledge, irrefutable. The Left calls Coulter names, but they have never factually disproven her book. She strongly supports McCarthy as a true American patriot.
As for Lincoln and the quote, well, I don't know if he said it or not. But I do know he should have. ;-)
Godfather, huh? Learning on FR is much more fun than a classroom!
Treason was the first Coulter book I read! It was outstanding and think NOW would be a good time to read it again.
It is well documented and to my knowledge, irrefutable.
And THAT my FRiend is why they HATE her.
There is a new disease out there called the alphabet syndrome.
ADS, BDS, CDS, DDS.....
Ashcroft, Bush, Coulter, Delay - Derangement Syndrome.
