INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -A comeback, a drive, a legacy. And yes - finally - Peyton Manning gets his Super Bowl trip, too.
Football's most prolific quarterback put on a show for the ages Sunday, rallying the Indianapolis Colts from 18 points down and driving them 80 yards for the winning score in a wildly entertaining 38-34 victory over the New England Patriots.

I think you're overplaying it a bit and assuming a lot. All I said was that in my mind, they are still the Baltimore Colts. I'm 46, and for a long, long time in my life, they were from Baltimore. Name association, that's all. I'm not a Colts fan, but I do want the Colts to win the Big Game because I like Peyton Manning.
and the Rams are still in LA and the Cardinals are still in St. Louie and the Dodgers are still in NY?...........
Yep... in my mind, the Colts are still from Baltimore, and the Cardinals are still from St. Louis. Thank God the Raiders went back to Oakland.
Tony responded, "I'm proud to be African American but this is about the Colts."
"These coaches are happy to about going to the Super Bowl. Not about being black and going to the Super Bowl."
Lovie Smith made a VERY big deal about being black and going to the Super Bowl as coach of an NFL team. It got old, real quick.
"frankly, I had never thought about the RACE of the head coaches!"
Same here. I guess this proves that we are not racists and the mainstream media is.
"Tony Dungy and Lovie Smith should issue a joint press release telling the press to shut up already about their ethnicity."
Lovie Smith made a big deal about being the "first" black coach to go to the Super Bowl at the post-game interview.
This is not NFL inspired.
Oh, I think he was there. Good things happen to those that persevere. I am sorry you are so sour. I also don't know why you seem to care. Nothing to you, now is it? If you have no faith in your life, fine. Thats your business. Even you, cannot ruin the victory for me or other Colts fans. Cheers!
I listened to the post game interview with Dungy and he spoke of the trials they had been through the last few years (he didn't mention the loss of his son, but you know that was on his mind.) He did attribute the trials to God's hand and if you asked Dungy if losses were God's intervention, I'm pretty sure he'd quote Romans 8:28 to answer that question.
I saw that after I posted.
I stand corrected.
[Peyton was praying during the whole last drive.]
In the post game press conference he seemed ashamed to admit. Something like, 'I'm not sure if you are suppose to pray for things like that, but, yeah, I did.'
I'm a native of Chicago and a life-long Bears fan. I expect we'll be ruining things for you in about two weeks.
Okay LOL! You might be interested to know, we rooted for the Bears in the early game. I want the Colts to win, but I like the Bears, so it should be a nail biter. A lot of my family lives in Springfield, IL. Hmmm?
Torre would never snub an opposing team's player the way Belichick did to Manning. Or snub Willie Randolph the way Belichick did to Mangini.
Actually it was one yard away from TYING, not winning.
Fair enough, but please understand that many of us in Indianapolis get real touchy about people calling us the Balt. Colts. It happened twice on CBS during the Colts-Ravens game. You would think we were the only team to ever change towns. And of course anyone who knows anything about Baltimore knows they have someone else's team, but can't let go of the past. I'm 55 so I also remember the B Colts and the LA Rams, StL. Cardinals, Houston Oilers/Titans, Boston Patriots, the Cleveland Browns turned Ravens, Oakland/La/Anaheim/Oakland Raiders and the two NY teams that now play in NJ.
Sounds like the Colts need a Big Game victory to cement the Indianapolis identity in many people's minds.
That Colts game was the best football game I have ever seen, Manning and Brady are in a class by themselves. Unfortunately, I am a Pats fan.
As opposed to the Chargers' excellent Sportsmanship leading up to the game?
If only Merriman had done more roids, it might be Bears - Bolts.
