With a few dissents, Sen. Mel Martinez (R-FL) was elected general chair of the Republican Nat'l Cmte this afternoon. RNC general counsel Mike Duncan was elected chair.

That vote was the straw that broke my camel's back. The republican party will continue to flounder and move to the left under Martinez.
When i practiced law in florida i had occasion to appear on the other side of issues when Martinez was with Orange County. The man is NO conservative.
Sadly, i no longer refer to myself as a republican.

The guy's a RINO skunk, and I'm seriously sick of all the Bushes and their influence on the GOP. Moderate wusses...
I have a bad feeling that by November 2008, President Bush's approval ratings will be in the mid-20% range....

When are conservatives gonna wise up & fight fire with fire and quit taking the freakin' high road with these vermin? Because when we quit taking the high road we will cease to be conservatives. Reagan took the high road and did it effectively. What we need to do is stop being inept and acting as though principles are negotiable.

"we need someone who can light a fire under the Republican Party and stop taking crap and lies from the Dems" You can't ignite the base with increased spending, large debt, larger government, more entitlements, amnesty, government education and nameless others. The Republican party has lied to the base far too long...no different than the democrats and their lies.
It's those party members that think voting for someone with the (R) on the end of their name is the salvation of this nation. Look where it has led this nation. My opinion...neither party, republican or democrat deserve to be a major player in politics.
