It's one of many threads here. I just don't subscribe to the knee-jerk philosophy of some around here, or the philosophies of an irrelevant third party movement driven by wild-eyed conspiracy theorists outside the mainstream who have yet to prove to me they are worthy of my vote.

"When are conservatives gonna wise up & fight fire with fire and quit taking the freakin' high road with these vermin?"
These are not Conservatives, these are Republicans.

You don't have to worry though, the Republican Party is circling the drain, this is just one of the many turds that will be flushed with the rest of the party of sellouts.

Nice try. No, we have been infiltrated by leftists who have figured out how to push the hot buttons of conservatives, and people here bite.

On every issue, you are always guaranteed to find two or three people on the thread who are against Bush, no matter if he did something right. For example, on the stem cell issue we had people who declared that he caved to the left because he didn't outlaw ALL stem cell experimentation.

Despite many on this forum griping that we needed to get tougher in Iraq, we now see that there are many who don't think that the increase in troops is enough, or complain that he hasn't declared war on all Islam, or that he hasn't simply blown up Iraq.

On and on. No matter what good the President does, for these people it isn't good enough.

I live in a very conservative section of Indiana. In my daily life I do not run into people that are this strident and disgruntled with the president. The only people who sound like this are FR anti-Bush types and a few talk radio hosts, whom I am convinced get their "feel" for the public by reading FR...which would of course be misleading if the posters are trolls.

I have said this over and over since the run-up to the 2004 election. People who are posting this stuff as "perfect conservatives" are anything but that.

I'm afraid FreeRepublic has been invaded by a bunch of whiney xenophobes and bigots.

IMO this thread could be used as evidence to support that statement.

If Martinez' name was Martin we wouldn't be having this discussion.

Furthermore, like it or not... the economic boom which began in 2001...despite 9-11... happened on the backs of the illegal Hispanic immigrants.

I welcome them with open arms.

I also trust MY president's reasons for handling the immigration matter in the manner he has.

As a small business owner who knows and works with many of these people I can say that none of them hate the country the way even some Freepers in here do.

They make me sick to my stomach.

Well, I think that with this move they have done away with one heck of a lot of donations, especially from us little guys.

I can't wait until I get another solicitation from the RNC.

Electing a sitting Senator for this position was the most brain-dead decision since the Herschel Walker trade. Michael Steele or Tom McClintock would've been great choices to lead the RNC.

Martinez, what a joke. Might as well nominate Pedro Martinez to lead the RNC.

Obviously some of you have never fought in the trenches and spent years working to get Reps elected to Congress and finally get a Republican House and Senate only to have the johnny come lately's throw a temper tantrum because they didn't get everything they wanted and hand control of the House and Senate back to the DemocRATs.

I'm sorry PKM, that is not what happend ( and I have no opinion on martinez one way or another). People like myself gave most of the 1990's to bringing about GOP control of government. We didn't do it because we simply wanted to know that the GOP controlled the government, we did it because back in the early 1990's we were going to cut taxes, eliminate pulbic boradcasting, the NEA, the DOE, etc. We worked hard and we won. What happened? Nothing. It turned out the people we put in charge were worse spender than those who proceeded them. That is fact.

Keep your money in your wallet until the 'Pubbies shape up.

Pardon me, but are you joking? The GOP will not shape up; it's not called the "Stupid Party" for nothing, you know.

Amnesty will get crammed down our throats long before Martinez will have any effect. The dems are running things now, the pubs are neutered and Bush is stubbornly in favor of amnesty because of his mexican relatives I suppose.

Looks like NEVER. Those in RNC leadership positions are completely out of touch with us. They really do believe the lib media spin that the Nov '06 elections were a referendum on the war and "right wing" Republicanism.

We better be ready for more election losses if things don't change. Nov '06 will look like a nice little slice of heaven compared to what Hitlery or Osama Hussein Obama will unleash on this country. We'll be praying for a return to the good ol' days when Bela Pelosi wanted Global Warming hearings.

If we stopped sending them money and we told them why we all were not sending them money, it might have an effect.

I think the true RINO's are those who hold to conservative values.

I've been trying to make that point myself. From Abe Lincoln to Lincoln Chaffee, The Republican Party has always stood for centralized power in Washington, limited state and individual rights and an interventionist foreign policy. The few inside the party that buck this trend are the real RINOs. Its only thru clever marketing and happy talk from admitted water boy Rush Limp-paw that people are conned into believing there is something conservative about Republicans.

My personal favorites are the ones who run right after you and say "ditto" to whatever you say or those who post exactly what you've said but slightly different, and think they are being coy.

I've written off the blue states.

I'd never actually even "visit" a blue state unless it was business. Some blue states I think should be written off like New York and maybe Californiacator. Because (dare I say it?) the folks who live in those places (excepting freepers and military, of course) are simply idiots. But perhaps in other states there may be hope of opening some eyes....Hopefully BEFORE the most recent episode of 24 becomes awful reality.

Be prepared to start hearing the word amnesty used a lot, and also, they are doing jobs that Americans don't want to do.
