The Weather Channels most prominent climatologist is advocating that broadcast meteorologists be stripped of their scientific certification if they express skepticism about predictions of manmade catastrophic global warming. This latest call to silence skeptics follows a year (2006) in which skeptics were compared to "Holocaust Deniers" and Nuremberg-style war crimes trials were advocated by several climate alarmists.
The Weather Channels (TWC) Heidi Cullen, who hosts the weekly global warming program "The Climate Code," is advocating that the American Meteorological Society (AMS) revoke their "Seal of Approval" for any television weatherman who expresses skepticism that human activity is creating a climate catastrophe.
"If a meteorologist can't speak to the fundamental science of climate change, then maybe the AMS shouldn't give them a Seal of Approval. Clearly, the AMS doesn't agree that global warming can be blamed on cyclical weather patterns," Cullen wrote in her December 21 weblog on the Weather Channel Website. [Note: It is also worth taking a look at the comments section at the bottom of Cullens blog, very entertaining.] See: http://climate.weather.com/blog/9_11396.html This latest call to silence skeptics of manmade global warming has been the subject of discussion at the annual American Meteorological Societys Annual conference in San Antonio Texas this week. "It's like allowing a meteorologist to go on-air and say that hurricanes rotate clockwise and tsunamis are caused by the weather. It's not a political statement...it's just an incorrect statement," Cullen added. [Note to Cullen: As the resident climate expert at TWS, you should know that Hurricanes in the Southern Hemisphere do rotate clockwise. Also, Cullen and the media have ignored the growing climate skepticism by prominent scientists see: http://epw.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?FuseAction=PressRoom.PressReleases&Co

Hey, Heidi, a weatherman (yes, weatherMAN) without a Seal of Approval is like a fish without a bicycle. (Without apologies to all hairy-legged femi-Nazis).
Come, come, now. 150 years of meteoralogical records trump 4 billion years of Earth history. So say the libs.
(And for anyone who thinks Earth is only 6000 years old, bite me.)
Construe that as full agreement.
They are Stalanist of the first order...they truly do not believe in freedom of speech for those who disagree with them.
No apology necessary--The point can't be made enough.
There is a reason why no links to the weather channel is on my web site.

Sounds a lot like Orwell's 1984...you slowly start to ostracize and close out certain ways of thinking, etc.
How...well gestapo of Heidi.
Freedom for me and not for thee...
Instead of the "fundamental science of climate change" they should refer to it as the "rudimentary science of climate change".
Sounds exactly like the Catholic Church when the heliocentric theory first came out.
"I have blocked the weather channel since it has gone political. You cnnot depend on their forecasts"
If their politics were okay, would that make their forecasts dependable? Why would you watch an undependable weather channel no matter what the politics? Maybe we should wait for the advent of sociometeorology.
Language isn't important to these freaks. They would love to line them up against a wall and shoot them. Give it time and we'll see opposing thought of those on the left treated this way.
If violence wasn't illegal, you'd see plenty of it on college campuses...of course on some campuses you already do.
It's also why the 500+ years of weather records held by the Hermitage in St Petersburg Russia have been locked up tighter than a bulls butt in a cold wind - bet you can guess why, too.
To be pedantically accurate, Cullen was correct. There are no hurricanes in the Southern Hemisphere. Tropical systems are called "Tropical Cyclones" in the Southern Hemisphere(as well as the Indian Ocean north of the equator.) The Atlantic, Eastern Pacific, and Central Pacific Basins are the only ones that use the term "Hurricane" and they're all north of the Equator and rotate counterclockwise. In the Western North Pacific the term is Typhoon.
