Police are looking for suspects in the apparent sexual assault of a pit bull puppy in Newark.
The Associated Humane Societies of Newark was notified at 7 a.m. Tuesday by the Newark Police Department that a pit bull puppy had been sodomized by a local resident. An ambulance was dispatched to 321 Seth Boyden Terrace in Newark to rescue the injured animal. "She was so cold to the touch, she's in shock. She's bleeding internally, and she couldn't even get up," Debbie Beyfuss of AHS told 1010 WINS. "We're all sick over this."
According to AHS, two female residents witnessed the situation but refused to get involved. The Associated Humane Societies has posted a reward fund of $2,500 and the N.J. Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals has met the $2,500, totaling $5,000.
"A reward is being offered for the arrest and conviction of bestiality by this unknown perpetrator," AHS released in a statement.
The female brindle/white pit bull, about 10 months old, was taken to Garden State Veterinary Specialists for evaluation and medical care

I think that not too long ago this wasn't illegal in Washington state. As they had a man die when he had recieved sex from a male horse and died, the police wanted to charge his two freinds but there was no law that had been violated except trespassing.

What a beautiful dog.
I hope they find the sick nut jobs that did this and string them up. I can't stand cruelty to animals.

The punishment should fit the crime - the perps should have the same thing done to them.

Nah, they'd probably like it.

String them up? I think painting his privy member with meat sauce and turning a pack of wild, hungry dogs loose on him would be more fitting.

Let me be the first to draw the ire of the group. Yes, the person who did this is a sickie and should be punished. But ambulances and national news stories?
I would prefer the resources, including public reaction, be devoted to human victims of crime. Many news organizations consider covering all the local crimes to be beneath them, leaving murders seriously underreported. This is all part of an incredible overemphasis on the importance of animals.

I thought that it was unconstitutional to ban sodomy.
