"...suggesting that the authorities might consider banning the "plus sign in mathematics because of its similarity to the cross.
Among the commissions earlier edicts is the 1974 fatwa declaring that the Earth is flat."
Heh, heh, heh!
Silly Islamofascists!
Perhaps Western Civilization can now take some comfort in knowing that the war on terror will be waged against Islamic fanatics who abhor science and mathematics and who also believe that the world is flat. When it comes down to a final confrontation, it will be like shooting fish in a barrel. After all, a society that is anti-science and anti-technology will only be able to offer up spears and swords against Western Tomahawk missiles, F-15s, nuclear submarines and aircraft carriers.
Not to be overly optimistic, but...
ISLAM - PREPARE TO SUBMIT TO THE FORCES OF ENLIGHTENMENT.

'What are the stars?' said O'Brien indifferently. 'They are bits of fire a few kilometres away. We could reach them if we wanted to. Or we could blot them out. The earth is the centre of the universe. The sun and the stars go round it.'Winston made another convulsive movement. This time he did not say anything. O'Brien continued as though answering a spoken objection:
'For certain purposes, of course, that is not true. When we navigate the ocean, or when we predict an eclipse, we often find it convenient to assume that the earth goes round the sun and that the stars are millions upon millions of kilometres away. But what of it? Do you suppose it is beyond us to produce a dual system of astronomy? The stars can be near or distant, according as we need them. Do you suppose our mathematicians are unequal to that? Have you forgotten doublethink?'

I wonder just how badly these weirdos would freak out if we decided to ban the letter "C" because it looks too much like a crescent moon? BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA!

I suggest they ban all perpendicular lines in their society, especially structurally.

How on earth will Islam's western allies on the left spell "Xtian," without an "x?" Such a quandary.

In response to the turndown, Faisal wrote an article that appeared on several Arabian Web sites, sarcastically suggesting that the authorities might consider banning the "plus sign in mathematics because of its similarity to the cross. That fatwa will come right after the video of Faisal's beheading shows up on YouTube.

The letter "X" comes from the early Phonecian alphabet where it was the letter "taw" -- the earliest use that I can find was made 1500 BCE, in other words 1500 years before anybody heard of Jesus.

Personally, I am eliminating the letters "I" and "S" from my alphabet because "I" stands for Islamofascist and "S" stands for Scu*bag and together they stand for, well, you guessed it.
It also depends on what the real definition of "is" is according to some former POTUS's.

Well, well, well. Accustomed as we are to seeing the Saudis and all Arabia spout their hatred for the Jews and Israel, it should be noted that this is something new. Are Christians the new Jews? Will pictures of Bush holding hands with the Saudia Princes resonate with Bush's base? Fortunately, perhaps, Bush never needs to run for public office again. But what about Naomi?

I suggest we introduce a new letter to replace the "X" for use in Islamic countries.
It should look like a gallows with Saddam hanging from the noose.
