Let's hope people around here will wait and see what actually happens before jerking their knees in response to speculation.

Not surprised in the least. Some of us were taken aback by the bots defense of Bush's anti conservative actions during the early years of his administation - did they not understand that if he's willing to ditch values X and Y, why not Z a few years down the road?

It just keeps getting better (sarcasm).

George Bush is preparing to make a historic shift in his position on
global warming when he makes his State of the Union speech later
this month, say senior Downing Street officials.
Well, that's it for the Republicans in 2008.
Goodnight, America!

More speculative bashing. "Sellout" is a double edged word.

I have never been a Bush-basher, in fact I have stood by him through thick and thin. If this is true however, then I'm going to get banned from FR for what I say about the President.
Just what we need, a national Schwarzenkennedy. Someone tell me its not true.

If I were the President, I'll say allow me to build many more Nuclear Plants.
Otherwise no deal in reducing "greenhouse emissions".

I'll believe it when I see it. I seriously doubt that the President is going to destroy our economy after his efforts to rebuild it.
Besides, who the hell believes these people?

With Bush's first attempts at SC appoinments, the Mexican SS sellout, the added SS benefits for prescription plan in the billions of dollars, his lack of concern about illigal aliens, other issues, and now this.
I think and rightfully so that maybe Bush is a RINO or even worse.
He is starting to appear as a Socialist to me!

Bush appears so shell shocked that he is becoming a blubbering idiot if he keeps falling further and further to the left. He is becoming a total bust as a president. Except for the war on terror, he is starting to really piss me off. What next, approve koto-moto treaty??

Since the source appears to be Tony Blair leaking to Gaby Hinsliff - Juliette Jowit - Paul Harris, who I presume are three Guardian Communists, I too think I'll wait and see.
No question the pressure is on to give in to this global warming/greenhouse gasses nonsense. Let us hope it's not true.
One thing is predictable. IF Bush comes out in favor of some nitwitted plan, he will get absolutely zero credit from the whackoenvironmentalists who hate him. So, what's the point?
