Al-Qaeda predicts US defeat

Dubai - The Iraqi branch of al-Qaeda predicted on Saturday the "defeat" of US military forces in Iraq, in its first reaction to US President George W Bush's new strategy to end the ongoing conflict.

In a statement posted on the internet, it said Bush's change of tack - including 21 500 troop reinforcements - "is only a prelude to news of a defeat and a flight from the hell of Iraq".

"Increasing the number of troops will not in any way change the nature of the battle," added the statement, signed by "a spokesperson of the Islamic State of Iraq" - an entity declared by al-Qaeda in Iraq in mid-October.

"Reinforcements in the past had no effect and did not swing the battle in favour of the Crusaders."

The statement was seen by AFP on Islamist websites, but there was no way to firmly establish its authenticity.

Al-Qaeda is the global Islamist militant network led by Osama bin Laden.

It is held responsible for the September 11 attacks in the United States in 2001 that prompted the Bush administration to launch its transnational "war on terror".

In a recording posted on the internet in mid-December, the head of an al-Qaeda-dominated group in Iraq offered to give US troops a month to withdraw without fear of attack.

Saturday's statement said the Islamic State of Iraq was "at its best and in good control of the situation".

It continued: "The media frenzy surrounding the security plan for Baghdad and the new Bush strategy will change nothing..."

"The enemy is trying to save face at least in Baghdad; the security plans for Iraq from now on are limited to Baghdad."

Bush's new Iraq strategy, announced on Wednesday in Washington, centres on putting more US troops in Baghdad to wrestle control of the capital from a stubborn insurgency.

It also calls for the Shi'ite-dominated Iraqi government to assume control of all Iraqi provinces by November or risk losing US support.

Prime Minister Nuri al-Malaki has separately announced a security plan for Baghdad, which is expected to be implemented in the coming days.

The Islamicists think they've got us confused and demoralized, which makes future aggression more likely. But they have no idea how fiercely we'll fight when it is our neighborhoods, our homes, and our families that are threatened.

True, to a point. However, there are alot more clueless sheeple who will break and bow at the first sound of the guns and other people living off of this country's wealth and resources who harbor no allegiance to our sovereignty. I agree with your sentiment and it still gives me hope, but we're not the same nation we were in 1941- unfortunately.

It hardly matters, really. No matter what happens we may depend on the Islamic fascists claiming victory and the international media backing them up. The Democrats have found this a useful dynamic to their own political power and hence will go along with the game as long as they can ride it. All that is happening and will absolutely continue to happen even were we to eject every last al-Qaeda sympathizer from Iraq.

Come 2008 - after the election when it won't matter - we will certainly hear this same gaggle of cretins demand war crimes trials for Bush while thugs in ski masks continue to behead people on the Internet. It's inevitable as the day.

They are only repeating the platform of the "Democrat Party of America" and Nancy Pelosi.

That's a great point. Victory seems to be relative in the minds of the left. I don't think they will admit an American victory even if Dick Cheney was named president of Iraq and the Baptists had a church on every corner.

The media and the Dems have been demonizing this war since the day Allied forces crossed the border, and now they have finally succeeded in defining and putting into action what defeat looks like. They could never define what victory looks like for America, just AQ.

A statement from the DNC web site:

"Bush's escalation is only a prelude to news of a defeat and a flight from Bush's hell of Iraq.

"Increasing the number of our kids (Bush's escalation) will not in any way change the nature of the battle.

"Escalations in the past had no effect and did not swing the battle in favour of our kids.

"Iraq has become an Islamic State, thanks to Bush's blundering prior escalations, and in control of the situation.

"The White House frenzy surrounding the escalation plan for Baghdad and the new Bush escalation will change nothing.

"Bush is trying to save face at least in Baghdad; the escalation plans for Iraq from now on are limited to Baghdad."

A statement being prepared for release by Al Qaeda:

"Bush's escalation change of tack is only a prelude to news of a defeat and a flight from Bush's the hell of Iraq.

"Increasing the number of our kids (Bush's escalation) troops will not in any way change the nature of the battle.

" Escalations Reinforcements in the past had no effect and did not swing the battle in favour of the our kids Crusaders.

"The Islamic State of Iraq was at its best and in good control of the situation.

"The White House media frenzy surrounding the escalation security plan for Baghdad and the new Bush escalation strategy will change nothing.

"Bush The enemy is trying to save face at least in Baghdad; the escalation security plans for Iraq from now on are limited to Baghdad."

[End of Al Qaeda statemnt]

Sure seems to me that the DNC would copyright their stuff, or at least block Al Qaeda from the DNC site.

We need to record the Al Queda message and the Hillary message from this date 1/13/07. Sounds mighty similar.

No, you see, there was not. But after the unprovoked occupation of a peaceful sovereign nation by the demonic forces of the Great Satan, they were forced to take up arms for the preservation of their normally pacifist and peace-loving religion. Or something like that.

What Pelosi et al cannot seem to comprehend is that if islam prevails, not only will will western civilization disappear, the history of western civilization will also disappear.

There will be no history to study.

-----Our leaders will justify this by saying that a US military presence is no longer needed as the Iraqis are well trained and can secure their country. ====

What if this is factually correct by that time?

Al Quaeda predicts US defeat. Not for the first time, they are on the same page as the democratic party--minus Senator Lieberman.

I'll ask you to consider that a significant number of American colonists - perhaps even a majority - were Loyalists at the outset of the American Revolution. Victory over a foreign aggressor takes fierce resolve more than numerical superiority. The Russian defenders of Stalingrad, who had only recently been allied with Hitler, taught the Nazis all about that. Their losses were terrible, but they inflicted worse on the Wehrmacht. I hope it never comes to such horror here, but I have no doubt that any foreign power desirous of conquering America will be made to pay a terrible price, for true heroes and leaders are made when the cost of failure is slavery and worse.
