Orange County's coastal plains could experience patches of frost tonight and Saturday night as a blast of Alaskan air moves through the region, the National Weather Service says.
Overnight temperatures the next two days will be in the mid-to-low 30s across much of the county and could drop to 29 degrees in canyon areas protected from the winds. Cold air is heavy and tends to sink to the surface of the Earth.
Forecasters said there's a slim chance that the county will get brief showers today. But the storm clouds will disappear by early Saturday and a mild Santa Ana condition will develop, producing 30 mph gusts inland and 15 mph to 20 mph gusts near the coast. The humidity level inland could fall below 20 percent.
The weather service says that the combination of low humidity, dry, cold air, moderate winds and a lack of rain raise the prospect of wildfires across Orange County.

In San Bernardino County this morning...Redlands, to be precise, at just over 1700 ft elevation...I can't see the San Bernardino mountains right now, they're covered in clouds, and getting blanketed in snow. Lake Arrowhead, here we go!!
Thanks, Algore!

Just took a brisk walk here in Stockton. Had to bundle up because of the howling north winds. Expecting record lows here tonight into the teens.
Yeah, thanks Algore.

Thanks, Algore! I agree, it's Al's fault. He just HAD to talk about "global warming" and now it's frikkin freezing here. It's like driving 80 mph on the freeway and saying "Wow, there's absolutely no traffic today." It's a guarentee you'll hit a massive traffic jam within the next 30 seconds.

It snowed here in Glen Valley for about forty minutes this morning beginning around 7:00 AM PST. This is the first snow we've seen since the first weekend after moving here in 1987. It was fun actually.

When it's warm in New York, it's called Global Warming. When it's cold in Southern California, it's called Global Warming.
It's used to be called: Weather. (But that's so 1980s.)
To: JRios1968
