aren't the 100 hours up yet?
"aren't the 100 hours up yet?"
At 2 hours a day 3 days a week it will take a while.
--aren't the 100 hours up yet?--
You obviously don't realize that is 100 "working hours" ...
100 congressional hours bears no relation to real time. They operate in their own universe where the laws of physics, economics and common sense are quite different from the real world.
Of course not, the 100 hours starts mext week.
"aren't the 100 hours up yet?"
I wonder if an article or two may have been written if in 1994, Newt bypassed committees, brought bills directly to the floor, changed a super-majority rule regarding taxation and virtually spit in the face of the minority party (and the citizens of our nation) before the ink was dry on the newly elected Congressional roster?
My guess is Rather, Jennings etc. as well as the printed media would have called for a revolution.
If we could rely on Republicans being cohesive when Pelosi holds her "symbolic" vote, I would love to see every Republican stand, place their hand over their heart and state, "I support our President, the exemplary members of our military and most of all the preservation and security of our nation.....I vote present."
Then let the dems vote and show the nation how THEY really feel about our country.
EODGUY
Democrats do strange things with numbers in their emotional zeal to twist facts. This is just another example of numerical contortions. 100 hours is whatever they want it to be.
"aren't the 100 hours up yet?"
I think they only count hte hours where they are actually working - about 2 hours a day, 1-2 days a week.
What do we pay these people? I'm pretty sure it's over 175K per year plus bene's for life.
No, the 100 hours are not up yet. And here is the dirty little secret on the 100 hours.
Pelosi said she was going to get 6 bills through in the first 100 hours of the new congress. Fine. BUT, and its a big BUT. The only time that counts toward the 100 hours is when they are spending time on one of those 6 bills! So if they are debating, giving self congratulatory speeches, etc... that time does not count toward the 100 hours.
