Minimun Wage Exceptions by Nancy Pelosi
KFI | 1/12/07 | KFI

Posted on 01/12/2007 7:14:45 AM PST by off-roader

Heard on the radio this morning that the federal minimum wage increase the house passed affects every state and territory except American Somoa. The largest employer on American Somoa is StarKist tuna. Their home office is in Nancy Pelosi's district. How could she have over looked this injustice on the poor people of American Somoa. Or was she taking care of big business in her backyard?

Nancy has done an excellent job in just two months demonstrating how she has zero morality.

"Or was she taking care of big business in her backyard?"

Keep in mind that Nancy's backyard is a vineyard staffed with illegals, who I'm assuming, are also exempt from minimum wage laws.

It's just her way of running the most "ethical Congress in history" dontchaknow?

Don't forget the hotel workers she won't allow to unionize.

If you REALLY want to know more about her, pick up a copy of "Do As I Say, Not As I Do" (author eludes me).

Guy has a nice little chapter on her.

I am hoping the Republicans jump on the Ethics Reform bandwagon (or push it) and then live by it... but I have a bad feeling that the old adage is true... the meaning of politics comes from the old Latin "Poly" meaning "many" and "tics" meaning "blood sucking parasites".

This is unconscionable influence by lobbyists in the work of this congresswoman.

By and large, I think all corporate welfare is corruption.

In this case, this is barely concealed real corruption.

The reason the Democrats give is that Samoa's economy is too weak to handle the wage increase.
I thought the argument was that if you raised wages, people would have more money to spend, hence, improving the economy...the "trickle-up" theory, if you will.

I'd love to see ICE do a raid on Pelosi's vineyard and arrest a number of illegal aliens.

The whole thing captured on camera of course.

Pelosi would be absolutely apoplectic trying to explain that one away.

Pelosi would not exempt the poor, minimum wage earning women of Somoa free abortions using our tax dollars.

Most politicians are corrupt, but Democrats are super corrupt. All one has to do is follow the money. Nancy Pelosi is a nightmare.

There should be an outcry that they should raise minimum wage up to $20 an hr. $7 isn't going to cut it!

The minimum wage law = the full employment act for illegal aliens.

That's one of those things on my "nice to dream about list." Right after being trapped in an elevator with Heather Locklear.
