I am hoping the Republicans jump on the Ethics Reform bandwagon (or push it) and then live by it... but I have a bad feeling that the old adage is true... the meaning of politics comes from the old Latin "Poly" meaning "many" and "tics" meaning "blood sucking parasites".

This is unconscionable influence by lobbyists in the work of this congresswoman.

By and large, I think all corporate welfare is corruption.

In this case, this is barely concealed real corruption.

The reason the Democrats give is that Samoa's economy is too weak to handle the wage increase.
I thought the argument was that if you raised wages, people would have more money to spend, hence, improving the economy...the "trickle-up" theory, if you will.

Pelosi would not exempt the poor, minimum wage earning women of Somoa free abortions using our tax dollars.

"Or was she taking care of big business in her backyard?"

Most politicians are corrupt, but Democrats are super corrupt. All one has to do is follow the money. Nancy Pelosi is a nightmare.

There should be an outcry that they should raise minimum wage up to $20 an hr. $7 isn't going to cut it!

The minimum wage law = the full employment act for illegal aliens.

Heard on the radio this morning that the federal minimum wage increase the house passed affects every state and territory except American Somoa.

Par for the course.

I just wrote to my Senators urging them to vote against the Minimum Wage Bill, but also asked them to add an amendment which would include American Samoa in this increase making them aware of the StarKist information.

The U.S. minimum wage laws have never applied in American Samoa, the minimum is set by the Department of Labor.

Let's hear her rail against earmarks soon. The call for comity must have been misunderstood by the RATs as a call for comedy, cause they sure are providing it :) at taxpayer expense :(

Here is a snippet from the Washington Times article here:

Some Republicans who voted in favor of the minimum-wage bill were particularly irritated to learn yesterday -- after their vote -- that the legislation did not include American Samoa.

I’m particularly irritated that our senators vote on bill’s that they don’t read! These A$$holes have no clue what they are voting “yes” on! I’m almost shocked.

Her husband ''just happens'' to own a big chunk of land which used to belong to the Federal Government (us taxpayers): Hunters Point Naval Shipyards.

Her protégé, Gavin Newsom, current Mayor of San Francisco, is trying to strike up a deal where the San Francisco 49ers will get that land and stay in the city, rather than moving to Santa Clara and building a new stadium down there.

But there seems to be some problem with the Naval shipyard being a Superfund cleanup site.

Stand by for developments as the blinkless wonder simultaneously cleans up corruption in Congress, and finds a way around this ''Inconvenient Truth.''
