Here's THIS libertarian's response to the Guvvenator: Go back to Austria and push your socialist agenda there, you two-faced sack of crap.
I feel so much better now.

Does this mean Hillary and Teddy will win outright in the longrun....? Have we not learned from the rest of the world that socialized medicine has more "ills" than we would ever want...? What is wrong with these people?
To: dpwiener
Arnold, like all politicians, have NO chance to stem the socialist juggernaut that began just after the turn of the 20th century. America has a fatal case of advanced marxism. Our defense against the collectivistic jihad is nonexistent, since we (too many of us, that is) don't understand the enemy.
To: dpwiener
Good rebuttal, but the Libertarians refuse to address the elephant in the room as usual - illegal aliens.

I do actually believe that it is a foregone conclusion that the US will eventually become a totally socialized state. The only questions are "how", "when" and the specifics of form and function.
Oddly, I am resigned to this fate and fairly at peace with it-- but I will continue to fight it out of sheer principle until the bitter end-- if there ever is and "end" that is. It seems that when it comes to socialism there is always room for improvement.

I agree with your socialist future prediction - I saw "Idiocracy" yesterday on DVD - it shows a future where moron voters elect a bodybuilder/pro wrestler president of the U.S. The future is here already in Kalifornia.

For all the amazing ingeniuity and intelligence that we have in abundance here in the US, we are still capable of collectively making the stupidest choices.
Oh well, see you on the other side, comrade!

A good first step for a Libertarian governor would be to role back state spending to the level it was at when Gray Davis left office, 'just' $101 billion, compared to Schwarzenegger's $131 billion, roughly 30 percent higher than only three years ago."

Just like Bush, dang these 'Republicans'...

Even so, has anyone seen a Republican response?
Is anyone expecting one?

Yes they did.
Schwarzenegger called for health care reform, referring to his proposals made earlier this week in which he would require employers of 10 or more to provide a health insurance benefit, and everyone, including illegal aliens, would be required to have coverage.
Many libertarians, including myself, are of the mind that if you reduce government welfare and entitlements, you will decrease the number of illegal immigrants who are here only to collect these benefits, leaving only those who work hard and are a great contribution to our economy.

And, as the author points out, just like Reagan, despite his (false) reputation as a small-government, free-market guru.
To: dpwiener
Who cares...
I can find the Women's rotary club of Brookneal, VA's response to Schwarzenegger and it'd have about as much weight as the dopian line.

We have illegal aliens because illegals are paid to come here. We don't need new law. We don't need a fence. Just stop paying them to come here...Elephant undressed!
