PACKAGE AT PORT OF MIAMI POSED NO THREAT! (No Explosives - Contained Sprinkler Parts!)

MIAMI - The Port of Miami was hit by its second terrorism scare in two days Monday when a package that was to be loaded onto a cruise ship tested positive for plastic explosives. Authorities later determined it was harmless.

The package was initially tested six times, and each time it came back positive for the military-grade explosive known as C4, the Coast Guard said.

The package was then destroyed, and a Miami-Dade County police bomb squad determined it contained sprinkler parts, said Zach Mann, a spokesman for U.S. Customs and Border Protection in Miami.

"I agree with you lawdude, look at how he closed our porus border with mexico down tighter than a brick..."

And for that I think I would support impeachment, but the two things are unrelated.

Either that or the tests they are doing are saying that things that really aren't explosives are testing positive. They need to get their system of testing checked out.

When I returned from Taiwan a little over a year ago, my laptop tested positive for nitrates. They ran it through the test several times, always getting a positive result. I had been nowhere near anything that might have resulted in nitrate contamination. I doubt the validity of their tests.

...certainly tests of the ability of security at this port to detect intrusions.

Don't forget, port security has been one of the Democrats favorite talking points for years.

If they were serious about homeland security, why sniff out C4 at the ports when, for all we know, Osama is crossing the Mexican border. He's probably got a map and gps unit given to him by the Mexican govt. and will be welcomed by El Gringo.

Geez, no wonder my grass doesn't grow. I don't have any C-4 in my sprinkler system. I gotta get me some of those C-4 sprinklers for next summer.

Why would the Mexican government want chaos in the United States? (rhetorical; they wouldn't).

Presumably the bomb squad are the ones who did the tests and determined that C4 was present. Gonna have to check where those sprinkler parts had been.

Used parts being sold to a foreign company perhaps? Maybe they came from an explosives storage room? Depending on the sensitivity of the test there also may have been some innocent residual contamination from the sprinkler company workers themselves. They do make routine service calls to test, repair, and upgrade their equipment Finding traces of C-4 or any explosives in sprinkler system parts IMO would not be that far fetched.

Why would the Mexican government (which is actually the drug lords who control the border) give a rat's rearend about us? No matter what happens in the US, their illegals will still send money back to Mexico, and the drug flow will continue uninterrupted.

Something brewing in the Port of Miami.

A few observations about the three Muslims caught trying to get into the Port area.

1. The 20 year old driver could not have had a CDL (Commercial Driver's License) as required by federal law because he's too young.

The two Muslims hiding in the truck were up to something, what was it.?

Never would there be three men in a tractor-trailer. At most there might be a two-man team, that is, one man relieves another for long hauls. Because of the nature of container traffic, loads are short-haul and never require a second driver.

No insurance company would insure a trucking company who hired a driver without a CDL and who had no driving experience.

The three were described as "U.S. Citizens" of Middle East appearance. Profiling? It is very doubtful if these men were not up to something. What is being held back by authorities? What happened to the "detainees?"

What is going on?

6 Times?

Either their testing sucks big time

Or something else is up

Newman: I've been able to locate some black market shower heads. They're all made in the former Yugoslavia, and from what I hear the Serbs are fanatic about their showers.

Jerry: Not from the footage I've seen.

"Who has it in for the cruises?"

Well, radical Muslims would probably associate Florida cruise ships with well-off, retired Jews.

seems to me fox reported the sprinkler parts were to be used in a renovation of the sprinkler system on the ship..

Yes they did, which why I wondered where they had been. Either the test was totatly messed up, which seems unlikely for a false positive, or the parts and/or the package/container was exposed to C4 (or RDX which is the principal component) somewhere in the not too distant past. Be good to know which, don't you think?

C4 is a good long ways from Harmonium Nitrate, or even Bat Guano. These sprinklers were for the fire suppression system, and thus would not have been in the landscaping industry. (And even if the two sorts of sprinklers were made in the same factory, they wouldn't get exposed to nitrates there)

The explosive ingredient in C4 is RDX

This is ammonium nitrate:

As you can see they aren't at all similiar, other than both containing nitrogen, hydrogen, and oxygen.
