MIAMI - The Port of Miami was hit by its second terrorism scare in two days Monday when a package that was to be loaded onto a cruise ship tested positive for plastic explosives. Authorities later determined it was harmless.
The package was initially tested six times, and each time it came back positive for the military-grade explosive known as C4, the Coast Guard said.
The package was then destroyed, and a Miami-Dade County police bomb squad determined it contained sprinkler parts, said Zach Mann, a spokesman for U.S. Customs and Border Protection in Miami.

Why were they loading sprinkler parts onto a cruise ship in the first place? No lawns to water in the middle of the ocean you know.
A ship might have fire sprinklers, but I would think that would be a package they were expecting.
Six positive tests for C4 is still troubling.

I think their testing is off! I think things are testing positive when they really aren't.

Why are sprinkler parts being loaded onto a cruise ship?
Do they have a golf course on that ship that needs watering?
To: idkfa
No Explosives just sprinkler parts. I think their testing is off.

But of course this is a conspiracy/coverup, because paranoids 100 miles away munching on tinfoil while typing know the actual contents of the package, as opposed to the responding bomb squad. Presumably the bomb squad are the ones who did the tests and determined that C4 was present.
Gonna have to check where those sprinkler parts had been.

A case of media pornography.
Sprinklers are used by the landscaping industry. That industry also uses nitrates for fertilizer. The same chemical family of nitrates used in C4 (McVeigh used nitrate fertilzer as did the rags that blew up the WTC garage in 1993).
The test came back positive for nitrates, some "journalist" asked what that meant and the Port Authority representative says, "it can be used in explosives like C4."
Voila! C4 is much more "pornographic" than "fertilizer".
To: areafiftyone
A safe package, containing sprinkler parts was senselessly destroyed today when chemical checks continued to misidentify some unknown residue as pertaining to the explosive "C-4". Senseless. Just horribly senseless.....

Kooks greatly saddened......
It does make me wonder about the ability of the Keystone Cops and all their high tek equipment that cannot differentiate between C4 explosives and plastic sprinkler parts! (tested six times!)

Well, the senseless destruction of sprinkler parts is preferable to the senseless destruction of people.
To: Raebie
If there were six positive tests, I can only assume that SOME C4 was there - kind of like cocaine on money.

This is totally embarrassing. The terrorists can shut down our ports, and tank our markets by planting sprinkler heads.
Do we have Maxwell Smart and Inspector Clouseau running our port security?
