The Invasion of the Alpha Male Democrat (Metrosexual Out Macho in Barfing As Usual)
New York Times ^ | 7 January 2007 | RYAN LIZZA

Posted on 01/07/2007 7:14:11 AM PST by shrinkermd

NANCY PELOSI’S carefully crafted introduction to the American people last week seemed to reinforce some stereotypes of the so-called mommy party. On the day she made history as the first woman to be elected speaker, she appeared on the House floor, surrounded by children and bedecked in pearls.

...But even as this nurturing image dominated the news, the swearing-in ceremony on Thursday was notable for another milestone in gender politics: the return of the Alpha Male Democrat.... The return of Democratic manliness was no accident; it was a carefully planned strategy. But now that the Macho Dems are walking the halls of Congress, it remains to be seen whether they will create as many problems for Democrats as they solved. After all, these new Democrats have heterodox political views that could complicate Democratic caucus politics, and their success may raise uncomfortable questions for those Democrats who don’t pass the new macho test.

...The architects of this strategy, Representative Rahm Emanuel, Mr. Lapp’s boss, as well as Senator Charles Schumer, are well-known political pit bulls. Mr. Emanuel won his Congressional seat by navigating the ward politics of Chicago’s old-fashioned political machine.

He is missing half of one finger — his aides refer to him as “nine point five” — and swears enough to make a Soprano blush. Senator Schumer is so aggressive and demanding that he has a reputation as one of the most difficult people in the Senate to work for. Both men, who have been elevated to leadership positions in the new Congress, are throwbacks to the era when tough-guy Democrats were urban ethnic politicians, like Dan Rostenkowski and Tip O’Neill.

See, see and you thought the RATS and the NYT obtained their talking points from the grafitti in the men's room. Nope, these are real men here. No wonderthe NYT did not endorse one Republican for statewide office anywhere. Pinch, Frank and Maureen all knew that this metrosexual thing was not going to last.

On the other hand, what is the different gushing about Hillary Clinton or Jame Webb. Gushing is gushing you know. Even we in flyover country understand that.

The TIMES is embarrassing itself. But, then, maybe it's reached a point where it's beyond embarrassment.

Of course John Bolton was not fit because of those same characteristics.

No wonderthe NYT did not endorse one Republican for statewide office anywhere.

The New York Times endorsed the reelection of Republican Governor Jodi Rell in Connecticut.

Alpha males, huh?

I could take them up in an airplane and have both of them crying for their mommy in 30 seconds.

The Times has no experience with manhood.

I stand corrected. Must have been a "small print" endorsement.

Leave it to the Democrats to finally get it "right" in rejecting the phony, emasculating metrosexual movement, but then screw things up by giving the testicles to their women!

Nancy Pollution, Hillary Klan-ton, Barney Frank ... these are the women who are leading the Democratic Party. To their credit, they have more in the way of a "package" than John Kerry or Al Gore. But then so does a harem eunuch ...

This reminds me of the islamofascist boobs blowing themselves up, looking for a fight against tanks using rocks

Folkes, we cannot contradict God, and if liberals are impatient, they should note that the fight will come to them soon enough for their sins, and this idiocy of "alpha-ing" themselves to the "frontlines", while hidding "big oil" driving SUVs is going to bite them in the arse about who is really boss.

Let us face it, Dems are only "good" at making fake fights with potemkin superficial people like Pelosi, in essence disorganizing whatever organization there is out there under the flag of false organizing and starting fights they really don't mean to fight in earnest, suicide or behaving in the end being their only options.

Lately they have intensified and oriented themselves toward presuicidal behaviors, indicating, with their recent delusion inducing "victory" in "Congress" and "bipartisanship", that they are moving from orneriness to plain full blown mental illness...

Dan Rostenkowski and Tip O’Neill.

A crook and a drunk! Role models worth emulating in the Democrat world. All you need now is a couple of wife-beaters (Ted Kennedy, call your service) and misogynists (Bill Clinton can still be VICE president ...) and you'll have a complete collection:

Liars, women-haters, man-haters, homosexuals, muslims, thieves, con men, cowards, lawyers, bigots, and God knows, traitors and fools in abundance.

Macho Dems. Tough guy urban ethnic politics.
Chuck Schumer and Rahm Emmanuel? I don't think so, and since when did swearing like a guttersnipe or cheating at machine politics become the definition of masculinity?

President George W. Bush is masculine. Bill Clinton is what this reporter is trying to pass off as masculine.
Even on a primal level, there is a vast difference.

These types of articles are bizarre from start to finish. Once a man accepts the values of the Democratic Party, he cannot be an alpha Male or a manly man. He can be an aggressive man, or an obnoxious man, but not a manly man. Democratic values today are the values of the churlish, the selfish, the lewd, the uncivil, the crass, and whatever the grievance industry decides will enhance its position in the world. To allow one's self to be pulled around by the nose by these shifting schemes of demagogues, is not the sign of a man.
