How 'Little Saddam' the despot's daughter spent her longest night
The Times Online ^ | January 06, 2007 | Stephen Farrell, Hada Sarhan, Amman

She has been seen in public once since her father’s execution, sporting Chanel sunglasses and a Socialist Party megaphone.

A decade ago Saddam Hussein’s eldest daughter, Raghad, was a privileged member of the Baathist aristocracy, her every whim fulfilled. Now living in comfortable exile in Jordan, she has been elevated to the de facto headship of the family.

She lives with her 15-year-old son Saddam — said to bear a striking resemblance to his grandfather — and her youngest daughter, 12. Her three other children — including her eldest son, Ali — live in Qatar with Saddam’s widow, Sajida. But for a week her house has been a grim scene as she devoted herself to greeting guests and taking condolence calls.

"“They read the Koran a lot. They were asking Allah to give him [Saddam] the power to get through these minutes,” she said. “There were just hot tears, like you cry when you know you can’t do anything to help.”"

I wonder how many of saddam's mass graves recipients had hot tears like those of raghead when facing the butcher of baghdad.

I suggest a Hussein family vacation digging away on the sunny slopes of a mass grave site in Iraq. That should help with their grieving process.

More than Muslim men, the Muslim women shape and encourage the development of these medieval attitudes and character in their sons, who grow up to replicate all the excesses of their fathers, never learning anything from repeated experiences and salient lessons visited upon their brethren.

Once again, an article about the poor family of the criminal instead of the victims.

What a smarmy soap opera, eh? I'm sure Oprah and Barbara are gnashing their teeth at the thought of getting her on their shows.

I wonder how Raghead supports herself. Maybe she had the same financial advisors as Hillary. Surely she wouldn't have any of Saddam's money.

Interesting observation: I work with a Muslim guy, and his son are basically free to do anything he wishes.

His behavior is appalling. He is about 5 years old and thinks nothing of walking into my office unannounced to tell me just about anything. He once asked a black guy how he has such a good job like his father does, since he is black. He walked into a sales meeting once and basically told the sales manager he was in charge now and sit down so his dad could speak. No kidding.

As far as I can tell Muslim boys are only hold accountable for their actions when they reach the age of accountability.

His two girls basically are non existent. Nice children, but basically unseen, unheard from.

"Raghad",...Yes, one "e" away from "Raghead".

Headwear says so much about some people. Heads wrapped in rags or towels, hats on backwards or sideways.

Can't even tell which direction the bill goes. IQ indicator.

He loved his family so much he killed his son-in-laws. Also, he must have been such a good father to have raised such virtuous youngsters as Uday and Qusay.

The article slips it in although it is easy to miss:

Grateful to the Jordanian regime for taking them in and — supporters insist in the face of considerable scepticism — providing their only means of financial support, the families also bask in the pro-Saddam feelings of many Jordanians from all classes.
