The U.S.- Mexico Social Security Totalization Agreement ...an agreement signed between the Bush administration and the Mexican government in 2004 that would funnel billions of U.S. Social Security funds to Mexican citizens. The Government Accountability Office (GAO) has already warned that as a result of this agreement, the number of unauthorized Mexican workers and family members eligible for social benefits will likely increase. The Social Security Administration itself warns that Social Security is within decades of bankruptcy - yet they seem to have no problem making agreements that hasten its demise...

gitmo - you're absolutely correct. The president and all members of Congress take an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution. This is Article IV., Section.4: "The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion."

Since even the open-borders pro-illegal lobby admits this is an invasion, it's clear that most of our elected federal officials don't give a damn about our Constitution or the general welfare.

Business interests love the cheap labor with no benefits and the pols try to out-pander each other for the illegal vote. Never mind the enormous tax burden for social welfare, prison incarceration, insolvent hospitals, bankrupt school districts, the crime and social chaos brought by the drug cartel and the 'hidden' costs of being a bilingual society. Just as California is now Mexifornia, cities and states far from the border are now morphing into the same patterns.

Yes I did. Do you believe everything bureaucrats tell you? Have you ever know a government bureaucrat to overstate the cost of a government program? I trust this will cost far more that the the "Myth"-destroyers claim.

Clinton "alienated his base" over and over and over again. Most of them went gonzo over WELFARE REFORM; to name just one thing.

I am not in sympathy with Bush's pained silence and muted responses on this issue.

However there seems to be a balancing act going on here...lots of agendas are being worked out (drug wars; trade; terrorists) and not getting into a brawl over Mexican illegal immigrants seems to be the strongest influence on this Prez right now.

BTW----A friend in the Baja area tells me it's a war going on down there in the past couple days...I pray for Calderon.

I have not done research on that but I will if you would like to know.

Who did you hear this from?

Anonymous? Or do you have a link?

Good question. The only thing from the MSM I've seen about identity theft was a while back on Lou Dobbs, who's had some great segments on the illegal invasion.

WELFARE REFORM was in no way opposed by the majority of Clinton's base. Yes, the dems were left-wing back then and yes there were far leftist who were against WELFARE REFORM but that party was not as left as it is today and Clinton did get more than just the democrat vote. He didnt get mine, but he did get a lot of votes from the center.

Since even the open-borders pro-illegal lobby admits this is an invasion, it's clear that most of our elected federal officials don't give a damn about our Constitution or the general welfare.

That's so ironic, given that two days ago they all swore the following:

I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic;
that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same;
that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion;
and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter:
So help me God.

In my mind, most of them have just (again) made liars out of themselves.

The National Guard is not only unarmed (BP agents are responsible for protecting them), but early this week a guard contingent was fired upon by a Mexican gang in Arizona.

You don't reward people for breaking the law.

That's old school mentality.

We now implement "stategery" when dealing with immigration laws (or lack there of).

I'm like most jilted GW supporters. For the longest time I waited for the "true conservative" Bush to show his colors.
As of now, my political wishful thinking is 'monochromatic'.

The Republican train has left the station.
Thank God, I'll take the bus.

"Since even the open-borders pro-illegal lobby admits this is an invasion, it's clear that most of our elected federal officials don't give a damn about our Constitution or the general welfare."

Unfortunately, our 'leaders', whom we have untrusted with power -- who swore to "preserve and protect the Constitution" -- have betrayed their Country.

Our leaders serve not "The People"(as embodied in the constitution) but rather, the elite -- whom serve only themselves.

Now I understand that "The people" is a somewhat nebulous term, but even so, they (the leaders referred to above) should at the least try to do what's best for the Country as a whole; whilst keeping in mind the parameter's of the Constitution, they have -- at least putatively -- sworn to uphold.

One can only conclude(as I have said in other posts)that either:
(1) They are simply unfit for office(incompetent to be kind).
(2) They are corrupt.
(3) They are traitors.

More and more the evidence points to conclusions two or three.

It is true that most of the guardsman on the border are unarmed. They are there as observers only.

I didn't say I believed it. I pointed to Commissioner Barnhart testifying before congress and what she said this Totalization Agreement contains.

I certainly hope she didn't lie before our esteemed congress.

Thank You for reading it.

Oh Yeah, there is as an ACT going on allright. The agendas being worked out..are NOT those desired by people that understand the Constitution!

BTW----A friend in the Baja area tells me it's a war going on down there in the past couple days...I pray for Calderon.

Pray for Calderon? Was it before or after he took office that Mexican invaders were given GPS units to infiltrate this country?

I did read you link. It is one thing to stand in front of Congress and tell your side of the story. Now if you will try this link you will read 2 sides of the story. The Government Accountability Office takes Jo Anne Barnhart to task for going to Mexico for only 2 days and signing this agreement. They claim she did not do her job of investigating the Mexican ss system. She also presents her lame-duck arguments which don't hold water. The GAO has done a fantastic job of protecting the American taxpayer.

Read the first and second paragraphs then the last sentence of the third paragraph. Then scroll down to page 13 of 35 then to 18 of 35. The table shows the over and underestimates of all the previous countries mistakes that were made. We even underestimated by 600% Portugal. In 2001 we paid $173 million to 89,000 foreigners. With Mexico we are talking about paying millions of people right off the bat. At present we can't even process legal immigrants and now how would we even begin to process all the illegals for ss, ssi and dependent payments?
