Saw a lot of people standing around out in the parking lot, that's unexpected if the shooter is somewhere unknown.

Uh, Bill, it would be difficult to have a shooting without a gun being involved.

Coulda been a crossbow. Or a ballista, such as I'm building for this weekend's fruitcake tossing festivities....

Male student. Presumably male perp. police know who the person is, once refered to as he. Police not releasing name, gender. believed to have escaped school.

If Chloe hadn't been in NYC on Fox&Friends pushing the new season of 24, she could get on the Internet and get a cam to follow the perp. No one can hide from Chloe's computer screen.

Too bad they so consistently don't act as though they had clue one.

Student Shot At Tacoma School

POSTED: 7:57 am PST January 3, 2007
UPDATED: 8:45 am PST January 3, 2007

TACOMA, Wash. -- A student was shot in a hallway at Foss High School in Tacoma as school was getting under way on Wednesday, police said. The student was taken to a hospital, but there was no immediate word on the student's condition.

Police spokesman Mark Fulghum said police are inside the school and are evacuating students. He was not sure if the shooter is still inside the school and he was unsure if anyone was hurt in the incident at about 7:30 a.m.

Police surrounded the school and the school was placed under lockdown. Video from Chopper 7 showed students being taken by police to buses in the parking lot.

A student identified as Jackie told KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reporter that he heard three gunshots and saw the victim lying on the floor.

"I know it was bad because there was a lot of blood," he said.

Entrances to the school parking lot are blocked off, reporter Jeff Dubois said.

Parents were asked to wait until 8:45 a.m. or 9 a.m. before picking up students in the school's west parking lot.

Video from Chopper 7 showed officers standing at school doorways.

Students under police escort were taken to buses, where they will be taken to Wilson High School.

Breaking news: Student shot and killed at Foss High School

08:55 AM PST on Wednesday, January 3, 2007

KING5.com

TACOMA, Wash. - Tacoma Police say a student was shot and killed this morning at Foss High School.

Police are searching for the gunman.

"We know who he is but we don't know where he is at this time," said Lt. Mark Fulghum.

The victim was taken to a local hospital. He died of his injuries.

A student who called KING 5 News from his home said he believes the shooting occurred inside the school at about 7:20 a.m., before classes began.

"A friend of mine came running into the classroom saying someone had been shot and there was blood on the lockers," said Cameron, a 10th grade student.

Police initially locked down the school and later allowed students to leave.

School has been canceled for the day. Buses are arriving to take students to Wilson High School, where parents can pick them up.

There were no other injuries reported.

Well... the fuzziness blossoms. That reporter has it inside the school in a hallway.

That the perp is apparently "known to police" I think tells us most of what we need to know.

Didn't take long after the RATs took charge did it? Look for another effort at gun control.

I hope not.

There'll be a certain freak-out by the usual suspects in school administration. Metal detectors and whatnot. "Reaching out" to gangs. Yadda yadda yadda.

FNC just said search for shooter has been called off. Odd statement. Maybe the guy turned himself in or was arrested.
