QUOTE: "Gerald Ford assumed the presidency when the nation needed a leader of character and humility -- and we found it in the man from Grand Rapids. President Ford's time in office was brief, but history will long remember the courage and common sense that helped restore trust in the workings of our democracy."

For anyone who is interested, CSPAN is beginning a replay of the Ford Funeral today. It was supposed to begin at 8:00.

It was a wonderful dose tonight Gretchen, you did a wonderful post on a very sad day. The Ford family impressed me with their sadness and togetherness, and caring for one another. And the kindness they showed to people who came to the viewing.

Thanks SO much for the Dose on this day of mourning, and yet rejoicing, Gretchen.

My two younger kids reminded me that they met Gerald Ford when he spoke at an "Aquire the Fire" spiritual revival in Detroit.

We are fortunate to have had him so long in our company, and some day we will be in his company, together with our Lord!

Hi Gretchen. It's almost 7:40pm here in Los Angeles. Just got home from work, and wanted to stop by for a bit and say thanks for the Dose.

Praying as always for our beloved President and his family; and for the repose of the soul of President Ford and for God to comfort his family in their mourning.
