WHAT A GREAT WAY TO END YEAR ONE AND START ANOTHER YEAR!
Santa Claus was there for our last Saturday of Year One
and Saddam Hussein was hanged in time for the New Year and Week One of Year Two.
3D-Joy made a guest appearance this week. She made it safely to the D.C. area from Florida on this trip. We pray for an equally safe trip home this coming weekend.
Cindy_True_Supporter made an unexpected visit this Saturday. She was sick during Christmas week. Suddenly there she was, her cheerful and perky self.
The 5 FReepers in attendance were: Cindy_True_Supporter (CTS), 3D-Joy, Lurker Bill (aka Lurker Bill from MD on Walter Reed AARs), [Mrs] Trooprally [Mrs] T, and myself. Legionnaire Halsey was also there. Local Bill stopped by for a little while. Final count, 7 patriotic troop supporters to 10 moonbats. Pictures are by [Mrs] T.
BELOW LEFT: Our theme sign for this week. BELOW RIGHT: Legionnaire Halsey with theme sign.
BELOW: 3D-Joy and Lurker Bill. In background at far end of red banner, Halsey and myself talk to a Vietnam vet. He stopped by to say 'Thank You' to us for being out there and was very happy to talk to Legionnaires Halsey (USMC, Korean War) and [Mrs] T (Army, early 1970s). After talking for longer than he thought and wiping away some tears, he left, saying he's going to try to make it out in the near future.
BELOW LEFT: Myself talking to a very energetic guy, Local Bill, who stopped by to hold a sign. That's 3D and CTS in background.
BELOW RIGHT: Local Bill. He stayed for about 20 minutes. He wasn't sure if he'll be back.
BELOW LEFT: 3D-Joy pausing from her energetically waving for a pic. BELOW RIGHT: CTS also pausing from her energetic waving to supporters.
BELOW: Myself waiting for some cars to drive by. The sun poked under the dark rain clouds. The rain held off for last night's Walter Reed FReep and ended before today's Olney FReep. Finally the weather was in our favor.
There were ten moonbats today.
BELOW LEFT: Two new moonbats, guy in brown beret and guy with folded arms. BELOW RIGHT: Once the brown beret guy (center of pic) learned that we are taking pics, he turned his back for the remainder of their stay.
BELOW: And the ex-freeper (left) was there. He stayed on his corner this week.
BELOW: Vultures circling over head. Who know they could read our theme sign. Maybe they thought Saddam Hussein was in the area, or they were attracted by the moonbats.
Finally, did anyone miss the second half on the Eagles' game? [Mrs] T and I sure did. Luckily(?) our Denver Broncos' fan son-in-law and FReeper [Mr] of Mr.Mrs.RedWhiteBlue was visiting with the family. Instead of watching the Eagles win, we saw the Broncos loss their play off chances.
In case you missed it:
REMEMBER
Next Saturday, same place, Georgia Avenue, MD Rte. 97 and MD Rte. 108 in Olney
NEW TIME - 10:15 AM to 11:45 AM
As always, the D.C. Chapter's rules for protesting will be in effect. Briefly, they are: No violence, no profanity, no racism, no provocations, obey the law and treat all law enforcement officers with respect.
Happy New Year to all. Great AAR! Keep up the excellent work :-)
Many thanks for the ping - great report, great pictures, and great people at the Olney FReep! God bless you all, and Happy New Year!
Thank you so much for the great report...and hospitality!
I hope there is no need to be there in the spring...but if there is...I will be there again!
Please note the great hat in the pictures...thank you and I will get to use it often!
Only giving the BEST the Best we have.

Hey, are any of your toons in the Free Republic Voting Thread: 2006 Today's Toons Favorites (Preliminary Round)?
If not, then why not? :-))
[Mr] T
T : It looks like you all started off Year 2 really well. Enjoyed the post and it looks like Santa had a great time too. He's been a busy guy all week.
Wayne: Thanks for the little cartoon. That was good.

Maybe they need a big dose of "Koalopectate" to get rid of their lumps.
