Can't someone who had Christmas Eve/Christmas off relieve you this New Years Eve/New Years Day?

Nope. I'm locked in. I suppose I could call in, but that isn't right and I couldn't look at myself in the mirror if I did. Besides, my wife and I agreed that if I can't spend the holodays with the family, the next best thing would be to spend it serving.

The way it works at my hospital is you get to choose ONE of the "winter" Holidays off.....Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years Day....I love Thanksgiving but had to work it, had Christmas off and I am working New Years Day.....it's hard on the family.

The nursing shortage makes it difficult to have the luxury of more time off and the turnover of staff...it never gets better it seems
