As an American and a Christian, I am sad at this execution.
I wish there was a better way to end this evil without acting so barbaric.
Yes, Saddam's regime was wicked. But, a hanging death like this is a sad commentary on man.
May God save and keep America safe
at this time when the world is watching.
Ever heard of "an eye for an eye"?
And yes, the whole world is watching. And taking notes. Do we care if they "like" us? Not really. I, personally, hope they fear us.
I agree. A necessary evil, no matter how necessary, is still evil.
"But, a hanging death like this is a sad commentary on man."
No it isn't. It's justice. Anyway, the hanging death isn't going to be half as bad as the place he will be residing in for eternity. He's frying on hot coals this very minute.
Grow a hair.
Yar, cookies and hugs next time, for sure.

No, this execution is an example of Biblical justice. Executing a despot and killer allows God to deal with him, for he is too lost for us as mere humans. One reason the death penalty has fallen into disfavor, is that we dont allow God to dispense justice. People have forgotten the afterlife unless they think of a sweet and cloud covered heaven.
I'm fine with it just so long as he wasn't Crucified.
Barbarism defines humanity. That's the reason why Jesus is THE reason for the season! Regrettably sometimes barbarism requires a response in kind to maintain a world balance. I hope they used a piano wire in place of a rope. You ever see the aftermath of a nerve gas attack? I saw the pix of the attack Saddam ordered against the Kurds. Horrific just doesn't quite do it justice. I hope they looped a piano wire around his neck and made him stand on a block of ice until it melted to the point his own body weight caused the wire to accomplish decapitation.
