"There were a number of concerns as to the fairness of the original trial, and there needs to be assurance that these issues have been comprehensively addressed. I call therefore on the Iraqi authorities not to act precipitately," Arbour said
Ms. Arbour is unable to cut to the chase on this issue. Mr. Hussein is guilty as hell of ruining his country, the evidence both that presented at the trial and that not presented at the trial make that really clear. Getting caught up on the technicalities of jurisprudence wasn't the point of the trial, it was to provide some closure for some of his victims, and it was in some ways successful in doing that.
Saddam is a dangerous individual with a large following. The world is a lot smaller today, we can't exile him effectively to St. Helena. The hangman's noose is the only reasonable answer to the threat that he is, and a just punishment for what he did.

Hopefully the new Iraqi government won't miss this delicious opportunity to thumb its nose at the meddlesome and annoying UN.

"Perhaps" Mizz Arbour should mete out justice on the blue helmets who raped those Congolese girls and the UN crats' who starved Iraqis for oil vouchers before she starts flappin' her fat ****in' mouth.
Perhaps.

UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Louise Arbour called on Iraqi authorities to act with restraint in regards to the implementation of ousted tyrant Saddam Hussein's death sentence. Well, words are cheap and this statement will make her look good with her UN colleagues; elitist journalists, clergymen, university professors, lawyers, and other assorted "intelligentsia"; Hollywood entertainers; third-world citizens (except for Iraqi Shiites and Kurds); European Union types whose "foreign policy" is to bash America, etc.
The hip thing for libs to say right now is that it would have been better if poor old persecuted Saddam Hussein had remained in power. So what the h**? These statements cost her nothing - it's not her family that got gassed.

UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Louise Arbour, you're an A$$HOLE!
To: jdm
Where were these UN pigs when Saddam was violating human rights with the reckless abandon of Josef Stailn when he was in power?
Oh yeah. Lining their pockets with Saddam's oil money in the form of bribes.
Hang the bastard and hang him high.

I'm gonna call up a couple a hard, pipe-hittin' n*****s to go to work on the homes here, with a pair o' pliers and a blow-torch. I ain't done wit you by a long shot! You hear me, hillbilly boy? I'm gon' get medieval on yo ass!"

Taking bribes from him. Interesting that the 'No Blood For Oil' clowns view the UN as their high authority, no?

I don't think the U.N. would be issuing love letters to Hitler if we'd caught and convicted him of crimes against humanity.
"Don't be so hasty! There are legitimate concerns as to the fairness of Hitler's trial. Don't be so quick to hang him because he might NOT have committed crimes against humanity."
