UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Louise Arbour called on Iraqi authorities to act with restraint in regards to the implementation of ousted tyrant Saddam Hussein's death sentence.
"There were a number of concerns as to the fairness of the original trial, and there needs to be assurance that these issues have been comprehensively addressed. I call therefore on the Iraqi authorities not to act precipitately," Arbour said. (Reuters)
Where was the UN Human Rights Commissioner when Saddam was gassing the Kurds?
Mademoiselle Louise Arbour (soooo Frenchy!) you can kiss our collective backside!
What is it with the UN? They didn't make enough off the Oil for Food scandal and want a little more before we hang Saddam?
If the UN would just come out and say that they were opposed to the death penalty in general then I would be at least a little more respectful of their opinion. But to hide behind these totally BS excuses about the trial...that is just lame.
Well, here we go. The only restraint they should apply is holding him still while the noose is put in place! This guy really doesn't deserve sympathy that he never showed to others.
Good point, Peach.
Fair trade: We hang the UN, Saddam lives.
Louise possibly has some funding issues since the end of Saddam could end some UN projects.
Personally, I think he's already been hanged or no announcement would even been made. That's what I hope, at least; otherwise they're being true fools to give the UN and its terrorist allies a chance to chime in on this.
Rights for criminals, but none whatsoever for the victims or their families. Is there any wonder why most intelligent Americans despise the UN?
They cannot see the genocide for the execution.
Bump!
I say we torture the POS by using a blowtorch and a pair of pliers on him. Cut off his limbs, soak em in salt and let the bloody rats feast on him.
To witch the Iraqi authorities replied F-Off A-Hole.
To which the Iraqi authorities replied F-Off A-Hole.
It's impossible to tell when the world's moonbats have a point or not. Sometimes they do, and we find out later. But I would be very surprised if these UN doofuses complaining here did not have a ridiculous standard. This trial was meant to tell the world what the scoundrel did, not to determine guilt or innocence with all the trimmings of a defense trial.
