The Utans (Utahians?) are very big on the golden stake, transcontinental railroad thing, aren't they? It figured prominently during the Salt Lake City Olympics, too.

I'm so glad they chose to honor the World Center for Birds of Prey instead of potatos

I like collecting these things but will probably be dead by the time they get around to Arizona. LOL! Oh well, the pastel coyotes and cactii are probably going to look tacky anyway.

As a former North Dakotan, I have to chuckle at the dead buffalo on Montana's quarter versus the live buffalo on North Dakota's quarter. It reminds me of a billboard on the way in along I-94 some years ago with a 7th cavalry march along a badlands backdrop:

Welcome to North Dakota

Custer was Healthy when he left.

It will probably be a while before the mint declares it illegal to export them, or melt them, as the melt price of the pot metal of which they are made exceeds their face value (which is now happening to zinc pennies and 90% copper nickles).

Cool. When do we get the County Nickels and Township Pennies?

Montana's is way cool! That skull will become an instant collector's item.

i've been collecting these, as i find them, for the kids.
it's been harder to find the ones minted at the denver
mint since we moved to the east coast. philly quarters
are everywhere here, just not the denver quarters. :(

Why would you melt a quarter?

I think a big bag of Idaho Potato's would have been better. Wyoming is the best coin out of the bunch. It really reminds me of Wyoming when I look at it. Utah's is kinda neat too. The rest are boring.

What a clever way for the government to get people to regard scrap metal as treasure!
