Veiled British Muslim woman delivers alternative Xmas message

A Muslim woman in a full-face veil went head-to-head on television with Queen Elizabeth II, delivering an alternative Christmas Day message on religious integration.

At the same time the 80-year-old monarch's Christmas message to Britain and the Commonwealth was broadcast, a woman known only as Khadijah spoke on Channel 4 television Monday about why she wore the niqab in public and called for tolerance.

"We are seen as oppressed. Since I've started covering I feel much more liberated, which I know a lot of people possibly won't be able to understand," she said.

"I don't wear the niqab to separate myself from society. I want to be part of this society -- this is where I choose to live. I hope that society is more accepting of my personal choice. It's not about separation."

Khadijah's appearance comes amid a debate about the extent of religious and ethnic integration following last year's home-grown Islamist extremist suicide attacks in London.

The row intensified in October when former foreign secretary Jack Straw said he asks Muslim women to remove their veils when they visit him in his constituency, saying it helped communication.

Prime Minister Tony Blair then called the veil a "mark of separation" between communities.

Khadijah -- who converted to Islam a decade ago and said she is the great-granddaughter of a suffragette who fought for women's right to vote -- said Straw's comments were not helpful.

But she also said that Britain was the best country for people to practise their religion freely.

"As for Channel 4, why broadcast this tripe?"

It made front page news stories in a number of newspapers and has been discussed several times even on FR, a predominantly Americo-centric message board.

Do you see why now?

I doubt she will. She's a hoot. We love watching her. The one where her niece was going to baptize her baby, born out of wedlock of course, was the funniest one. We love her arrogance and her high opinion of herself. Funny.

"An alternative Christmas Day message? What is that?

The alternative to Christmas Day is...?"

It's something that they broadcast annually in the same timeslot as the Queens Christmas message is broadcast on BBC1, so that is what it is the alternative too.

Generally the speaker is whoever Channel 4 thinks can generate most controversy and, therefore, free publicity, for them.

Who said anything about freedom ? Did you read my post ? Britain's support for multiculturalism and importing non productive third worlders over the guilt of it's imperialist past(superbly explained by Thomas Sowell), is destroying itself.

Why feel guilty about the imperialist past? They should be proud of bringing culture and civilization to untold millions of savages around the world.

Unlike the United States whose goal was (is) to spread freedom, democracy and capitalism, the Colonial Empire's was to plunder, pillage and loot the "host" countries of every bit of wealth while enslaving their citizens. The spread of western education and the English language was the silver lining.

"We are seen as oppressed. Since I've started covering I feel much more liberated, which I know a lot of people possibly won't be able to understand," she said."

What a load of crap. They sure brainwashed this one. Perhaps she should have tried living in Afghanistan and see what happens if she tried to NOT wear her vail. Do any of these converts ever read the koran, or are they just told what it (doesn't) say like most other brainwashed muslims? She feels more "liberated" by wearing a symbol of opression. Go figure. Muslim women just love wearing a head to toe burka when its 120 degrees out, and I'm sure they feel much better for that beating their husbands give them should they dare not wear it. I'm sure a dumpy looking liberal western woman might feel 'better' by just throwing on a head to toe burka. She wouldn't have to shave that beard, squeeze those zits, wash her greasy rats nest called hair, shave legs or any other repetitive tasks like that.
Bathing is not nessesary with Burka's either, rathr than wasting water every day taking a shower, the burka has a built in alarm systyem that tells the wearer when they have to bathe; when they start choking on their own stink.

This woman, and the queen of all people, have a lot of nerve interupting our Christmas day, just to shovel B.S> about an evil, murderous blood cult who so called prophet was nothing but a thieving murderer and pedophile down our throats.

I think many if not most people understand.

As soon as Muslim men are forced to cover up their bearded faces with veils, and if that makes them feel "more liberated," I may begin to understand this whole "liberation-through-covering-up" thing. Until then, I'll stick with the tried-and-true "liberation-through-wearing-as-less-as-possible" technique. Not to mention the time-tested "liberation-through-marrying-whoever-I-want" and "liberation-through-not-being-honor-killed" methods.

"We are seen as oppressed. Since I've started covering I feel much more liberated, which I know a lot of people possibly won't be able to understand," she said.

Of course they will not understand it, because it is absurd nonsense, transplanted from an alien culture, and rammed down the throats of the larger society.

Why do people not take me seriously when I wear a clown suit?

Why are people hostile at Bar Mitzvas when I show up in my SS uniform?

Why are people so judgemental when I go to Communion naked?

To fail to be "understood" when wearing the costume of people who kill us is something that is so intuitively obvious,it does not even deserve this response.

Muslims never received this deference until they started murdering people in large numbers in the west, so do they now receive this attention because they are respected or because they are feared? This just tells the terrorist that terror is indeed working and is giving Muslims a new voice in the west.
'''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''

Very insightful. We must now internalize this truth and understand the profound implications of what we have done to ourselves. Until the west realizes that we now fear islam and have begun to submit, we will not move to the point of using our fear as motivation to eliminate the threat. Those of us ready to defend our way of life truly perceive the threat and are confident it can be eliminated. Those of us still denying the existence of the threat do so by capitulation to its source. I truly understand your tag line. You indeed "get the point".

Very revealing statement from a "convert" to islam don't you think. She admits that through submission she liberates herself. This is truly perverse. She liberates herself from being an individual, from thinking for herself, from even being seen. That is why the next step is death, and the next step becomes easy. God help us all my friend.

A bank robber wearing a mask probably feels pretty liberated too. That said, what she forgets is that she has a choice. Having a choice is what makes one feel liberated. It is, in fact, the earmark of liberation. Sinead O'Connor felt liberated when she shaved her head. But then, no one held her down and did it to her.
