ACTION REQUESTED
Holiday Greetings for Recovering Sailors and Marines at National Naval Medical Center (NNMC) Bethesda
The Marine Liaison at Bethesda Hospital, where wounded Marines return stateside to recover or for rehabilitation, reports that they have not been receiving e nough Holiday Greetings cards or Thinking of You cards for the number of wounded at the hospital. When you are preparing your Christmas cards this year, please include a card or two to:
A Recovering Sailor or Marine National Naval Medical Center Marine Corps Liaison Center 8901 Rockville Pike Bethesda, MD 20889-560T
Your card(s) will be a great present to boost morale of a wounded warrior and each one costs only 39 cents to mail.
If you would mail just one Thinking of You card each month during the year, the wounded warriors would receive a great benefit knowing that American citizens appreciate their sacrifice, care about them and wish for their speedy and full recovery.
Happy Holidays and Best Wishes for the New Year, to you and yours!
Well, I have about 10 card left over, so I'm sending all 10 to them.
"Will do" bump. Thanks for the reminder!
Thank you for posting.
Per another posting elsewhere on the internet (can't remember site),these cards should be left OPENED and UNSEALED, mailed inside another, larger envelope, so they can be reviewed before being distributed. This is for security purposes, to avoid another "Josh Spaulding" incident. (He's the wounded soldier at WRAMC who last year received the anonymous Christmas card which said "Wish you were dead" or "hope you die". Something disgusting like that. Was a huge issue last year on Freerepublic.)
I am on it.
Please e-mail this to others you know who might have a few left over. Thanks for spreading the word.
560T? Is that a typo?
dunno---
I assume it to be correct.
Bump
Will do....sending out the last of my Christmas cards today!
Please pass this along to others. I really appreciate it. I am going to try to post this once an hour because Freepers are the best in supporting our fighting, and healing, soldiers.

I assume the 4 digit code can be left off if unsure.
Thank you so much. I don't know if the postal service handles things that are incorrect or if they just have a basket for ones just addressed "Wounded Soldier".
