There is really no evidence that Rudy Giuliani is any stronger on national defense and national security issues than anyother Republican in the poll driven field of possible candidates for 2008. All the names on the current list of unannounced GOP candidates are committed to finishing what we started in Iraq, committed to staying the course in the WOT, committed to our alliance with Israel, and at home, fostering a strong homeland security effort. The GOP should be nominating the most conservative candidate, not the most liberal candidate.
LOL! You're kidding. No one ever thought Tancredo could win at all.
Me kidding? Never well almost never well only occasionally well ok you got me.
"The GOP should be nominating the most conservative candidate, not the most liberal candidate."
That is certainly true, if the highest priority is pleasing the most conservative voters.
But if winning the most votes becomes the highest priority, perhaps the candidate capable of that will NOT be the most conservative.
Newt.
in 2000? no way, McCain would have done very well in that race.
No Egg Nog yet?
>>>>But if winning the most votes becomes the highest priority ...
Winning the most votes is the ultimate goal, but not if it means totally selling out your principles. So far, I don't have a major problem with any of the "possible" candidates on the GOP side. Except for one. Rudy Giuliani not being a conservative by any stretch of the imagination, will be fighting an uphill battle. He offers conservatives nothing. I believe his candidacy for the GOP nomination is DOA!
You can make mine a double! ;-)
Ronald Reagan was, until his death, a HUGE fan of FDR, whom he NEVER stopped praising. And we all know that Reagan was such a damned RINO, don't we? ;^)
Oh yeah..........Rudy is such a BIG GOVERNMENT FAN; that's WHY he CUT the size of N.Y.C.'s government, when he was mayor. I guess it's also WHY he not only save the city from bankruptcy, but left office with the city having a SURPLUS, WITHOUT HAVING RAISED TAXES.
But thank you for play; as usual, you light up any thread you're on.....NOT!
Oh yeah..............let's nominate some unknown yahoo, with no name recognition, no money, no big time backing, who will say something that you will LOVE to hear, who who is a guaranteed LOSER, even against Hillary or Obama or even algore. That's the ticket! /s
No, actually he wouldn't have.
Yeah, that's the ticket....let's keep nominating THE most, over the edge of the cliff's righty, whom even the vast majority of the BASE won't want to vote for. Being OUT OF POWER, into perpetuity, is the surest way to further the Conservative Movement. ROTFLOL
I am not sure how you are figuring this. Bush lost the popular vote in 2000, he lost some of the values voters the last weekend because of the DUI revelation. McCain would have done better with independents.
I suggest that you locate and read SALL of the threads and links about him, that have been posted over the years.
Then why are you spending so much time attacking him? I'm throwing the BS flag on your comment. You know too much about politics to convince us that you actually believe Rudy's candidacy is DOA. C'mon.
It's hilarious to read posts that claim Rudy is the MSM choice, when it has been clear since at least 1999 that the MSM is in the tank for McCain more than anyone except perhaps Bill Clinton.
they are going to "swift boat" McCain? A guy who was tortured in the Hanoi Hilton? the backlash from that would be amazing.
