You really ARE delusional beyond my worst fears about you.

Yeah, that's the ticket....let's keep nominating THE most, over the edge of the cliff's righty, whom even the vast majority of the BASE won't want to vote for. Being OUT OF POWER, into perpetuity, is the surest way to further the Conservative Movement. ROTFLOL

It took you three posts to express youself and in the end, you said absolutely NOTHING of substance or relevence. Now that is delusional, but not unexpected.

>>>>Ronald Reagan was, until his death, a HUGE fan of FDR, whom he NEVER stopped praising.

You've convinced me. You don't understand who Ronald Reagan was, and you don't know anything about political conservatism. In fact, you've shown more disdain for conservatives and conservatism, then you ever have towards liberals and liberalism. You're nothing but a first class phoney.

After Reagan died, the liberal pundit Mark Shields said:

"Ronald Reagan represented a frontal assault upon the New Deal and upon the premise of activist government being the answer-- activist federal government-- to society's and the nation's problems..."

As a conservative I don't usually agree with liberals but Shields nailed what the Reagan Presidency was all about in that one short remark. Reagan quoted FDR from to time to time, when it suited his fancy --- when it suited his political agenda. Otherwise, the New Deal was something Reagan moved on from. In 1952, Reagan voted for Eisenhower and never looked back. Reagan promoted the idea of limited government like no one in recent memory and as POTUS took serious executive actions that reduced the social welfare and entitlement budget of the federal government. Reagan diverted funding from the welfare state to rebuild the US military into a first class organization worthy of the worlds premier superpower. In fact, when Reagan left office he actually cut the federal budget by 1.0% of GDP. He also reduced the annual welfare state budget from 53.4%, to 49.7% of the overall annual federal budget expenditures. Today Bush is spending some 67% on social welfare state.

>>>>Rudy is such a BIG GOVERNMENT FAN; that's WHY he CUT the size of N.Y.C.'s government, when he was mayor. I guess it's also WHY he not only save the city from bankruptcy, but left office with the city having a SURPLUS, WITHOUT HAVING RAISED TAXES.

Engaging in historic revisionism once again.

As Mayor of America's biggest liberal city, Rudy championed big government. He never attempted to abolish the city income tax. NYCity property taxes and utility rates remained some of the highest in the nation. Rudy left behind a projected $2-billion deficit and a city debt totalling $42-billion. A deficit second only to the federal govt. Contractual agreements under Rudy almost doubled, from $3-billion to $5.8-billion. And Rudy added 20,000 new city employees, of which 15,000 were teachers, swelling the ranks of the liberal AFT and the liberal NEA in the process. As Mayor of NYCity Rudy championed gun control and called on Congress to pass an assault weapons ban. Throughout his tenure as Mayor, in fact throughout his entire life, Rudy has supported abortion on demand and opposed partial birth abortion. He championed special rights for homosexuals and happily marched in the annual gay pride parade. Woohoo! He also supported NYCity as a sanctuary for illegal aliens. Rudy is on record supporting amnesty and a path to citizenship for the 15 million illegals living in the U.S. today.

You need to get a life. You really embarrass yourself, almost everytime you post on Free Republic.

I hear Alan Keyes is looking for a job. There was a time when he was the pinnacle of their moral and intellectual standards.

Many Rudy haters would love Keyes to run again.
