Bashir cleared of Bali bombings (Terrorist off scot free!!!)

INDONESIA'S Supreme Court has overturned a guilty verdict against Muslim cleric Abu Bakar Bashir for conspiracy in the deadly 2002 Bali bombings, a court spokesman said today.

Some foreign governments accuse the cleric of having led a regional extremist group and the move is likely to anger countries such as Australia, which lost 88 nationals in the bomb attacks on nightclubs on the Indonesian resort island.

Bashir was released in June after completing a 30-month jail sentence for being part of a conspiracy behind the bombings.

The Supreme Court, in response to an appeal by Bashir challenging the verdict, ruled that the cleric was not guilty of that crime.

"It has been been granted. He was not proven guilty. Of the 30 witnesses presented during his trial, none confirmed that Bashir was involved in the Bali bombings," Supreme Court spokesman Joko Upoyo said.

The Antara state news agency quoted the chief judge on the panel examining the case, German Hoediarto, as saying the court had ordered that Bashir's name be rehabilitated.

I am somewhat reassured when I reflect that, bad as things are now and may get in the future, there will come a point when the American public has had enough and it will be ok to fight fire with fire.

Really? When the Pubs had Congress they showed zero testicular fortitude.
The Dems are, mainly, closer to traitors.

And the Sheeple are focused only on Brittany's crack and Miss USA's use of the same.

Does that mean he didn't do it, or that they couldn't PROVE he did it? Or was it just a show trial?

Meanwhile, in Libya, the six Bulgarian nurses and one Palestinian doctor who were charged with "injecting" AIDS virus into Libyan children in a hospital there have just been given death sentences. The Libyan government refuses to hear testimony from many independent sources that the AIDS virus was rampant in that hospital and contaminated practically everything long before the nurses arrived, and in addition, that the time frame for the alleged infection by the nurses is also impossible. (Aside from the fact that they had no motive.)

But the Libyans were out there cheering and screaming Allah Akbar in the streets after the verdict was handed down. There will be appeals, but it doesn't look good. There are also five American nurses and an Indian (?) doctor charged with this, but I'm not sure of the status of their case.

Muslim justice.

You all seem to have missed this part:

Bashir was released in June after completing a 30-month jail sentence for being part of a conspiracy behind the bombings.

He was convicted, served his time, and challenged the conviction again after being released. It's a paperwork thing at this point, because he wasn't going to spend any more time in prison no matter how the case was decided.
