"Eight years ago, it was hard to imagine a universe where I would ever cast my vote for a Clinton. Rudy Giuliani would actually make me do that. Cut losses in 2008, start rebuilding."

I can't believe you would actual vote for Hillary Clinton, someone that would surrender to Osama bin Laden and Islamic fascism than vote for Rudy, some that threw Arafat out and would relentless go after terrorist the same way he went after crime as Mayor. That's the most stupid, idiotic thinking ever. All because you think gays are more of a threat than terrorist. Rudy won't split the party. Yeah, some of the far right wing extremist fringe might jump off ship but I would welcome that. We would attract 5 times as many independents and win bigtime in 2008.

I was thinking about the First Ladies coin series and was wondering about the quandary with James Buchanan... will they feature his lover, AL Senator and Vice-President William Rufus de Vane King on the coin ? Of course, the problem is that Buchanan was the female in the relationship, so would that technically make him the first woman President (rather than Edith Bolling Wilson) ? Pity poor Buchanan, despite hailing from a anti-slavery district in Pennsylvania, dear Willy King influenced his views on slavery in a pro-direction, even after he bought the farm in Cuba, the only Veep to die on foreign soil...

If my info from my links are not well sourced, then hit the button and have the Admin remove it.

I didn't put any pedestal out there. I proved I am here.

And 25 miles outside the city is not removed from the city. And if you are a true New Yorker, you know that.

The Republican Party is in a truly sorry state when Giuliani is the "man to beat." There are no credible conservatives on the horizon, mush less currently running or threatening to.

Just the facts? OK, just for you then...a divorce is different than an annullment. Two entirely different things.

A divorce is a legal proceeding...and annullment is a religious procedure.

Just the facts here,,,he was divorced TWICE, ok?

Have a good day,,,,AND a good night..:)

You are just the endless font of political trivia, the best on the internet. I salute you, even though I am not sure the details of Buchanan's private life as you described it have been verified as rock solid facts, rather than surmises.

Yeah,

the independents are just dying for four more years of GOP Presidency.

Because we all know how much the independents would hate to go back to the Clinton years.

You stretch a lot of reality in your Rudy orgy, my Liberal friend.

Okay, I just read a bit more of that disgusting thread you sent me too. You are claiming that Ferraro ( SPIT ) is a lesbian and was at the Stonewall that night in 1969, as well as Rudy and Bloomberg. As much as I loathe Bloomy and Gerry, that is just NOT so! You are a malicious, disgusting, libeler and yes, if they knew about FR and your posts, you COULD be sued and you WOULD lose.

You are opening up FR to not only derision, but more lawsuits. I that what you really want to do, with your visceral hatred for Rudy, which is behind your specious posts?

Yes it is in a sorry state. To nominate a liberal like Rudy shows how much it has changed in a relatively short time. The pro-Rudy advocates may win their battle (by dumping the traditional conservative base) to get him elected with their 'new found' pragamatism--but they will have to deal with the 'new party' they have created after that.

After all, pragmatism can be worse than liberalism--because it blurs the distinction between conservatism and liberalism--making liberalism much more acceptable. Oh well.

If no other Republican has a better chance to beat the Democrat than Mr. Giuliani does then the next president will be Mrs. Bill, probably with Hussein as VP.

*I* haven't claimed a thing. This is from the sourced sites. Hard sourced. Not a blog. From the actually sources.

So no, *I* can't be sued. I just pasted.

"The media likes popular individuals and Rudy is one. OK, lets pick some obscure 1% candidate that the media won't talk about and I can assure you that will be dancing to defeat comes election 2008."

I'm not asking for much, just to run a Conservative. It's ironic that part of the reason why the rodents won back control in this election is because they recruited or ran ostensibly Conservative candidates. Conservatism is a proven winner, so why on earth are we going to regress by nominating somebody that is about your average Democrat liberal on par with, say, Lieberman ? Right on national security, wrong on everything else.

"And by the way, Rudy was divorced only once, and his first marriage ended in an annulment. So he had two previous wives, not 3. Just the facts. :-)"

You should know that it's all about how it looks. Regardless of whether his first marriage was annulled (yes, I knew that), he's still been married THREE times, and that looks bad. Worse than that, his first marriage was to his (second) cousin. That's going to come up and look incredibly embarrassing on top of everything else (and the adultery in the second marriage as well), and the jokes won't stop (picture Leno: "Didya hear Rudy married his cousin ? I guess he's trying to appeal to the West Virginia voters !"). Even if Rudy WERE a Conservative down the line, these personal problems would still be his #1 liability. The Democrats have no problem with adulterous candidates, but the GOP has higher standards. That's why a lot of us joined this party for that very reason.

I am not fond of Mr. Gingrich because his social leanings are suspect but I will vote for him if he is the nominee because he is generally pretty good on most things and he is a great politician. He can prevail against the Democrats and left Republicans. Giuliani's social leanings are certainly not suspect and I will not vote for him under any circumstances.

It's too bad about that ton of Freepers. I generally expect more sense on FR than on MJ or DU.

No, independents, according to most polls, would prefer to see the Democrats win.....unless the GOP nominee is Rudy or McCain even if Hillary is the Democratic nominee. I didn't stretch any reality. I'm no liberal and neither is Rudy ON THE WHOLE. Worrying so much about people that have no affect on your life is just plain stupid!! And the reality is, the President can't stop them from living their lives the way they want to. So voting solely on this issue is very very very very unpragmatic. There are SO MANY more issues that are MUCH more important like the WOT and foreign policy, issues the President actually does have much power over. So you go ahead and vote on the basis of least important issues, the issues where the President has the least power and I'll vote on the most important issues which just happens to be the issues the President has the most power over. So actually, I'm just a pragmatic conservative and you're an unpragmatic, single issue, far right wing nut.

I actually did track that done. As per Stonewall, the 'friends of' are donors that support the cause and only members that were at stonewall can be members. The Honorary is just colorful. Again, talk to Stonewall or David Mixner, not me.
