Al Franken couldn't resist spouting anti-war rhetoric during a scheduled USO tour at Camp Victory, Iraq.

I think Robin Williams changed his tune. He WAS supportive and hacked on the terrosists, but then tore up the President and the whole war fairly recently if I remember correctly.

I know Ted Nugent and Toby Keith came over together. Joan Jett's been there. Those would have been some shows to see!! :-)

Hubby was there in 03-04 and williams would bash Bush in the states and then go on tour to the troops...hubby refused to watch him......He was on a mission when Gary Sinise came to the base and he missed him....the one person he wanted to see.

"I have been angry for over 2 hours regarding this and just wanted to get it off my chest."
Well tt, imagine how some of us feel that have been filled with anger for over two years, as we have carefully examined on a almost daily basis, all the reports streaming in on the literally thousands of success stories both from a Iraqi reconstruction effort as well as the 100% victorious actions taken against every insurgent, resistance, Saddamist/Baathist, damn fool Sunni/Shia religious groups, al Qaeda, and supposed totally misguided Iraqi freedom fighters, only to hear nothing but total horseshit spewed across the airwaves and print.
But good for you. Your "getting it of the chest" is in alignment with 95% plus of Free Republic contributors.
Imagine.
I can still get rather steamed over how badly the information was manhandled whether deliberate or not of how we could not have possibly have provided enough of quality armor plateing for light and heavy vehicles way back in early 2005.
Like some of us here. I have been around for a number of years. And I have watched the L/MSM and it's cronies and the far left over the years slowy and very calculating, literally invent news and twist things to their agendas.
Many of them are literally traitors to this Republic.
And I am certain. Many of them could give a damn less if you where to charge them with that charge. They have no honor in their souls.

Yeah I'm curious as well. If they had the Dallas cheerleaders though, it wouldn't be an accurate indication of his draw.
I'll keep my eye on the base paper, and if there are any will post them here.

What frustrates me is that they often don't outright smear someone or some story, it is the tone of their reporting or interview. They present themselves as being patient with an idot or something, and subtly belittle the person they don't agree with.
But you're right--they know exactly what they are doing. They are trying to (and generally succeeding at) affect the overall perception of the war against terror. Constant negative reporting, highlighting casualties and bad apples (Abu Gahraib, the rape trial, etc.) and repetitive bad news on all networks vice the good or victorious things that happen, will eventually have the desired effect.
The story of our soldiers digging through scrap heaps for armor made it sound like we were at the local junkyard. In fact we were canibalizing parts off of unserviceable equipment in our own bases. But the junkyard story lasted.
Hell, the homeless crisis and bad economic news that always comes out during a republican administration. Even though the number of the former were reduced or the numbers of the latter were better--no matter. They had a mission.
Okay. This old guy needs to sleep or I won't be able to think later. Stepping off of the soap box...

Yea. I gotta hit the rack to. Work comes early. Hope you have a great upcoming day.
Glad to see you have the correct perception of how evil these bastards are. "Correct" based on carefull and fair evaluation over perhaps a long period of time.

Oh, I would have done it, too. I'd have probably been dragged out of that chow hall, but if I had witnessed that, I'd have gone off all over that creep! Now THAT would have been a show worth watching!
