Many of us agree that Rudy McRomney is not an acceptable candidate for the GOP nomination for president. The lack of alternatives is troubling, but there are folks out there.
Several people have mentioned Cong. Duncan Hunter from California. Having looked over his record, he looks like the real deal. I'm posting this to get Cong. Hunter some visibility.
Have at it!

I like him.
Seems like the guy based on his record. Anyone know how he comes across? Any charisma? Seems like a nice enough looking fellow.

Unfortunately, Republicans will label him a Populist and try to kick him to the curb.

The Dems attack lines will be that he is from San Diego and a Republican just like Randy 'Duke' Cunningham. Duke was a crook and therefor so must be Hunter.
Hunter is the only Republican so far that is not a RINO or a squish.

Duncan Hunter won re-election in his district with 64.9%. There is a lot to like about this man. He has the best record I've seen on immigration issues.
Top Priorities if Elected
* Maintaining a strong national military.
* Ensuring a strong international border with Mexico.
* Working to keep defense and high-technology jobs in San Diego
Position paper on immigration.
Living in a border region most of his life, Congressman Hunter knows first-hand the importance of providing and maintaining strong border enforcement for our nation. Congressman Hunter believes that protecting our nation's boundaries requires providing our border enforcement personnel with they tools they need and enforcing our nation's immigration laws.
Since our inception, the United States has welcomed people from all over the world seeking better opportunities for themselves and their family. Congressman Hunter believes this spirit is what makes America great, and to preserve these principles, he opposes rewarding illegal immigrants who break our nation's law with state-issued drivers' licenses or amnesty. Providing these types of benefits undermines our immigration laws, makes the job of our Border Patrol and U.S. Customs agents that much more difficult, and is disrespectful to the millions of individuals who immigrated into the U.S. legally.
Congressman Hunter has introduced legislation authorizing the hiring of thousands of additional Border Patrol agents, voted for increased funding for improved facilities and vehicles, and supported continued construction of fence, road and lighting projects on the border like the "Double Fence Pilot Project", which runs from the Pacific Ocean to Otay Mesa. This fence has proven extremely effective against illegal immigration and drug smuggling into the U.S., as well as eliminating the rapes and murders that used to take place in this area. Most recently, Congressman Hunter co-sponsored and supported the passage of the Secure Fence Act. H.R. 6061 requires that border security fencing be erected in several specific locations along America's land border with Mexico. Projects like the Double Fence have served as an example to other border regions of what can be accomplished when border enforcement is provided with the resources it needs and how communities can be made safer on both sides of the border.

Well if Rudy decides not to run I might lean closely to Duncan Hunter. He seems like he's the more sane of the rest of them. I don't like Romney (too much like slick willie) and McCain is a looney tunes character!
Thanks for the ping - I appreciate it! :-)

LOL Well only time will tell. Should be an interesting race anyway. I am hoping Obama does not run though! He's going to be trouble. He's supposed to decide in early January.
