Hey, people I know and trust say Rex Anderson eats the toes off babies!
How about that?
3rd try: SOURCE PLEASE.
Duncan Hunter seems like a blessing. Sure he's from California;) Great post!
>Not only that, he looks like a winner.<
An awfully young one, though. Or does he use "For Men Only"?
We're looking for a Reagan, and Duncan Hunter seems pretty darn close.
As for name recognition, that'll come if he can win a few primaries. It's up to Hunter and the grass roots (that would be us, folks) to get him those first few primaries. Then the name recognition issue goes away.
As for the argument that a congressman can't win, that's usually true. Usually governors beat legislators. But this isn't a usual election. All the big Dem names, with the exception of Gore, are legislators. That should serve to level the playing field, since most of the candidates will have legislative records to run on, or run away from, as the case may be.
Count me on the Hunter bandwagon--best of luck to him.
Hunter and Steele---their names say it all----no nonsense, disciplined, tough, straight shooters!!!
Yep!!I'm all for Hunter and Steele;a team with appeal!
Thanks for the ping.
I'm nauseated by all the other choices. I've really and truly had it with RINOS, libertine-arians, so-called fiscal conervative/social liberal Republicans, the RNC supporting liberal candidates, and so on. I will read whatever I find about D.Hunter.
Just read it.
Sounds like like my kind of candidate. Look forward to hearing more about him.
"That's almost reason enough to vote for him by itself," said Silverback the grizzled former zoomie. :-)
Duncan Hunter looks like a great guy with an excellent record. I have no problem supporting him, and as a matter of fact, I will support him.
However, if the posts on this thread made almost 10 hours ago is an indication of Hunter's ability to unite conservatives (in a primarily conservative forum,) just imagine how he will be viewed by the general voting public.
Anyway, I will support him and I will continue to support Rudy, and let's see who fares better in the public arena, because in the end, the one who has more acceptance among the GOP is the one who will win the primaries.
You know, I was depressed after the 2006 elections, but 2008 seems like an exciting time. I'm looking forward to a spirited debate among ourselves provided the debate is civil and devoid of childish behavior. And since I will be supporting Hunter, it'll be funny when someone calls me a liberal republican.
May the best man win.
Hunter-Steele is a ticket I'd love to see. Steele is eloquent and tough, and an excellent debator.
Looking at his positions,it occurs to me that I have more in common with Hunter than President Bush.
How much name recognition did Bill Clinton have in '92. How much was the public impressed by his credentials as governor of Arkansas?
As for fighting, there's a number of people on FR whose reactions to the last election show they should take up knitting and stay the heck out of politics.
I will only vote for Rudy if it comes down to him and McCain. Otherwise, not a snowball's chance.
It's been said (I can't remeber if Limbaugh or Morris coined it) that Hillary reminds every man of his first wife. I'm betting that after some time on the campaign trail, she'll remind all the soccer moms of their mother-in-law.
I know a woman who has a nursing degree and is considering the Air Force. She told me she will either enlist on the Wednesday after the 2008 election or forget about it completely, depending on who is elected.
How about Steele, or J.C. Watts? Both are black, both are eloquent. Steele would even soften the ideology for the moderates.
