A private laboratory hired by the prosecution in the Duke lacrosse case failed to report that it found DNA from multiple males in the accuser's body and underwear, according to a defense motion filed today. The lab, DNA Security of Burlington, found that the DNA did not match the three defendants, their lacrosse teammates or anyone else who submitted their DNA to police, including the accuser's boyfriend.
The new evidence emerged in thousands of documents handed over to the defense in October.

I am going to say this about her.......she impulsively claimed rape to probably avoid going to jail herself....
let's face it...Fog opened up the vault for her and maybe in a way she wishes he never had...notice that we don't hear anything from her.....
so of the two of them, Nifog is really the evilest, the most vile, the worse of the worse.....she's just a whore.......doing what whore's do....

"She may outdo that girl who accused Kobe Bryant."
oh, you mean that girl who Bryant publically apologized to and who also got a nice tidy sum apparaently from an undisclosed civil settlement to avoid disclosure?...

So Liefong is trying to pin the whole thing on Dr. Meehan.
Will Meehan just sit back and just take it?

If he were to be disbarred, etc. it would throw many other cases into jeopardy. Perhaps freeing convicted real criminals.
I believe that is what protected Mark Gerragos from censure or disbarrment during the Scott Peterson trial.
It would have meant that there would have to be another trial.
In Florida, Roy Black committed a disbarrment offense when he was having an affair with a juror on the Kennedy-Smith rape case. It was covered up and hushed up but is clearly not allowed. Palm Beach certainly did not want to take a chance on a jury finding a Kennedy guilty in a second trial.

Well, you're right. Nifong's supporters are "idiots". Unfortunately, it has been the culture of Durham, NC, to support the criminal rather than the victims of crime for a very long time. And by victims, I consider the Lacrosse players the victims in this sorry episode.

Howlin, you've made several great points when suggesting that we '
...think back to when...'.
LieStoppers has some more great '...think back to when...' instances:
May 3 Nifong comments to WRAL:
My guess is that there are many questions that many people are asking that they would not be asking if they saw the results
They're not things that the defense releases unless they unquestionably support their positions
So, the fact that they're making statements about what the reports are saying, and not actually showing the reports, should in and of itself raise some red flags."
and, in a June email to Newsweek, "In a tersely worded e-mail, the District Attorney lamented": "...
What has surprised me is the utter lack of any degree of skepticism of the part of the national media with respect to the claims of the defense attorneys, many of which are misleading and some of which are absolutely false. As an example, when those attorneys held press conferences to announce that the first round of DNA testing "completely exonerated" the players (a claim that, on its face, is rather preposterous), I saw not a single report that any reporter had actually seen the test results (none of them had), or had asked to see them and had that request denied (which is what happened to those who bothered to ask).
Both of these statements, and I'm sure several more, made by Nifong with the full knowledge that no one else had even seen the reports, much less the detail revealed in the October discovery dump. What a prick. And what an idiot, knowing full well that he'll eventually have to produce this stuff.
It should be noted again that the import of the DNA testing information in yesterday's filing is that it suggests a high probability that Nifong conspired with Meehan, and perhaps Hinman & Gottlieb, to tweak the DNA report summary.
The fact that the FA had multiple partners before the party isn't really that important - everyone already assumed that, and I'm betting that the DNA wasn't used in the GJ presentation by Nifong
Also - some here are suggesting that the 'knew it in April, produces it in October' is a clear indication that the DA isn't adhering to NC's Open-file discovery law [thanks for the info on the law, btw]. Unfortunately, that's not true - the law only requires that the DA produce his file 'a reasonable period before trial' or something like that. He probably hasn't violated that law (yet).

Forgive me if this has already been discussed, but rumor is all three accused will be in court tomorrow. Could the end be in sight?

DNA Security of Burlington in May produced a report to Durham District Attorney Mike Nifong that made no mention of finding the genetic material.
Obviously, as others are going to post, this is unexcusable and infuriating. I hope Meehan and Nifong get what they deserve!
