Where is the DIGNITY in Suicide??? It's the most cowardice act imaginable.Where did you get that idea? Terminal cancer patients often have their morphine dosage increased by hospice doctors to the level that it kills them. Are they being cowards because they didn't want to live for an aditional 2 weeks in excrutiating pain?
There is dignity in going out while a person is still recognizable to their family.

How can "Michigan officials" declare that if no hearing has occured? George Soros pay someone off or what? I think that parole boards can sometime grant a prisoner parole and set the release date in the future.I saw this happen in a series shown on A&E which showed the proceedings of parole boards in various states.

You can add my own Dear Mother to that list. Kidney failure is a painful way to die. Damn Dr. didn't want to give her more pain medicine because it "could kill her"...DUHHHH!!!!
She was dying a painful death anyway. I would have paid Dr. K to help us all out that day..

Tell that to the terminal patient suffering excruciating pain for weeks, months, years. When every waking second is searing pain and there is no relief except death.

My father died screaming because the doctors told me they couldn't give him any more morphine without killing him. They moved him into a private room so he wouldn't disturb the other patients and staff. That is terrible and my heart goes out to you and your family for having to deal with something like that.
Was your father in hospice? It is my understanding that when the pain becomes too much to bear, that it was common practice for doctors to give an extra amount of morphine - enough to cause the person to die of what appears to be just the body giving out.

This piece of excrement has been dying for years. If there is a God,he will *actually* die the day before he's scheduled to be released. Or in his case, "If there is a Satan, he will *actually* die the day before he's scheduled to be released."

Read what Lunatic Fringe said in a prior post to you. Go have fun watching a loved family member suffer unbearable pain for months on end, with no chance for recovery, just so they can die of whatever disease they have. What a "beautiful" thing.

Everyone knows that prolonged suffering makes you more dignified.
Especially when you can no longer control your elmination processes, and your mind is totally consumed with pain.
THAT'S true dignity, I guess.

Where is the DIGNITY in Suicide??? It's the most cowardice act imaginable. Go watch a family member die of cancer over the span of several pain-filled months, then you can come back and discuss this again.
Suzy - you sound like your 18. The politics of death and "assisted living" may not have afected you. Lunatic Fringe is spot on in relation to the topic.
If I ever have to give another dying person, morphine again to ease the pain of dying, it will be too soon. Try reading the rest of the thread, it all hits home. Don't steal precious personal freedom.

I don't think Dr. Death used morphine...did he?

It was nearly seven years ago, and as you can tell, I'm still pretty angry about it.
