KANDAHAR, Afghanistan, Dec. 13 (UPI) -- NATO forces launched an airstrike Wednesday against a known Taliban command center in southern Afghanistan, NATO officials said in a statement.
Officials said the "precision-guided munitions impacted exactly on target destroying it completely." There was no indication how many Taliban fighters may have been killed or wounded in the bombing.
The southern Afghan province of Kandahar is a known Taliban stronghold.
"This clinical strike shows the Taliban leadership that there is nowhere for them to hide from the combined might of ISAF (International Security Assistance Force) and the Afghan security forces," the statement said.
"These individuals have learned the hard way that intimidation of the people of Afghanistan will not be tolerated. All those thinking of taking up arms with the Taliban would be advised to consider a different path."

Perhaps most of Kandahar should be targeted for destruction...
Isn't that how we handled "enemy strongholds" during the wars we won?
Folks who are overly concerned about the deaths of THEIR women and children -- would perhaps like to sacrifice their own women and children in their place....
For that is the goal of our enemy.

There are no jobs there like we know jobs. Afghanistan offers two ways for a man to support his family: join the opium trade or join the army. That's it. Those are your options. Oh, I forgot, you can also live in a refugee camp and eat plum-sweetened, crushed beetle paste and squirt mud like a goose with stomach flu if that's your idea of a party. But the smell alone of those "tent cities of the walking dead" is enough to hurl you into the poppy fields to cheerfully scrape bulbs for eighteen hours a day.
AND a funeral.
AND a Babies Milk Factory.
Oh, yeah.
