This question is for lovers of Handel's Messiah only.
Which is your favorite version, and why?
Hogwood. Why? I'm not sure. I'm not even sure why I like Mozart, and you want me to tell you why Hogwood's Messiah is my favorite. Come on!
Mormon Tabernacle Choir
I always thought Handel wrote The Messiah
He did. What's your point? (I was afraid I'd misspelled it, from your comment.)
I'm partial to the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and Chorus' version of Handel's Messiah. Beautiful.
I bought it for a friend last year on Amazon, so you can probably find it there if you're interested in purchasing.
And if you have a chance to hear The New York Philharmonic perform the Messiah, I would recommend that also.
Got in the wrong pew the first time I went to answer you. I thought I saw credit given to Mozart for the Messiah.
Just downloaded that one last night. It gets the job done!
Bump.
And again bump
Early bump.
Can't tell you why. I just love this one :)
Often Messiah versions seem to range from the too-sonorously-slow to the one I'm listening to now, which at some times is so frantic and hurried that I'm literally wanting to say, "What's the rush?"
