"Thanks. I think O'Reilly fears internet & not capable of doing searches on his own."

Absolutely. His rants come across as the least informed and unprepared comments I have ever heard. He has NO CLUE about those of us in Real World, USA.

His totally stupid remarks re: SUVs' (and the lack of need of them) is telling. Commutes here in the Phoenix area can be 40-70 miles or more. I know many families that take the kids to school and then go to the office 40 miles away.

And when Mom gets home from work on Friday night, the whole bunch hook up the Pop-Up and head to the mountains for relief from the 110 degree heat of the valley.

O'R's panic about child abuse and his totally uninformed view of CPS/Justice system procedures is equally appalling.

I would love to have him report from Phoenix and spend 3 months here, not as a tourist but as a resident.

Bob Woodward once again worries about the troops...he says they aren't happy and want a new direction.

Oh, now he is saying that the troops leave Iraq, after the reporter in Iraq said that the Iraqis feel that we need to stay.

NOW, he is saying we can't pull out, or set a timetable.

pffffffffffft

I swear...I think the whole bunch in D.C. is half crocked from going to so many cocktail parties w/each other and hearing the same shallow remarks from people who fancy themselves in-the-know...a bunch of high level gossips imo.

Thanks Carolina. Got that suggestion in some great Freepmails, plus a goody from McGavin about something to take with antibiotics when the sight of yogurt makes you gag. I ordered the regular Sambucol and should get it Tuesday or Wednesday. Don't really care at this point as long as I have it on hand if anything else attacks me. Thank you so much. I really came on here as a distraction with no intention of sobbing in Freeper laps, but am glad I did as I got great suggestions. b.

So the secret service in the US was bugging and listening in on Princess Diana's phone calls right before she died?

Ummm ... Didn't she die during the Clinton Administration??

Thanks for the ping, snugs.

Anita, I didn't know this particular detail: "President specially asked Rumsfeld to preside over this meeting." Thanks for calling it to our attention. That one simple sentence gives the total lie to all those who have claimed that Don Rumsfeld was fired.

He had been wanting to retire for at least the past couple of years. Given his age, the fact that he was comfortable and doing very well in the private sector, and the fact that he already had been SecDef years before, it was almost a miracle he even agreed to take the job in Jan. 2001, let alone stay this long.

His resigning the day after the election might have been seen by some as abrupt, but it wasn't. And anyone who has been paying attention these last six years knows there is a very special, truly unique bond between GWB and Rummy. Mark my words...next year GWB will be awarding the Presidential Medal of Freedom to Don Rumsfeld.

GATES IS KING..is the new talking point, and Pres. Bush is irrelevant now.

It's anyone BUT... those elected by the people. We saw it with the 9/11 Omission and the ISG... elected officials hesitating/declining to lead... and commissions and courts stepping in to fill the void.

This is how we will lose our voice... and our Republic.

Note to Bob Woodward and the rest of the DC Idoitacy. GW Bush, not Gates is CIC. The Sec of Defense works FOR him not vice versa.

4 years, great cost of lives and money, yada, yada, yada.

If 3000 military casualties in 4 years in achieving a military objective is unacceptable loss of life, then we have ceased to be a great nation. Personally, I'm tired of hearing about the military being "in harm's way", as if they were little children walking across the street without holding their mommies' hands. They're warriors, for goodness sake! Harm is their business.

So Harmon thinks we should bomb Baghdad from the air. Kill people on a civilian train, cluster bomb the main thoroughfare, cut off the water supply, the heating oil supply, fill the Tigris with rubble, ala Serbia as perpetrated by Weasley Clark?
