Second segment with TOny on reliable sources.....discussing the election. Tony thought the republicans would hold the house. Tony says Bush likes reporters (ok, TOny, thats a step too far!) :-)

I believe the President is meeting with other groups this week so we will see what he has to say later in the week though we will probably have to read this on the White House Website as the MSM especially in Britain probably will not show it.

I'm not defending the my way or the highway attitude other than to say our side needs to start nominating conservatives instead of moderates and we need to stop willingly supporting the likes of Senator's Snow or Specter. For all the problems we have from a grass roots perspective, the GOP leadership has more. At least we understand our side and what we stand for better.

Indeed "the next two years will be interesting."

Here is one thing a few congress critters have kicked off that shows just the slightest glimmer of hope.
You will find it here:

http://poe.house.gov/news/documentsingle.aspx?documentID=54028

Many of us recall the shooting incident by two border patrol men agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean not too long ago. They dared shoot fleeing drug smugglers crossing the border.
Well local Texas prosecutors taught them a lesson or two and sentenced one to 11 years and the other to 12 years. After all these Mexicon drug smuggler's are just doing the jobs that American drug smugglers are too lazy to to do.!!

Well seems it got the attention of a couple of congresscritters, Congressman Poe, Dana Rohrbacher and along with 48 other co-signees they are now trying their best to get GW to do what should be done and give a Presidential pardon to these brave border Patrol agents.

One can only imagine what happens to morale in the Border Patrol when fiascos like this happen. more link problems sorry.

Baker thinks that we don't talk to Syria and Iran because it's tough. I think it's because it's pointless

Baker's plan is the 21st Century's version of the Munich Agreement

Yes, probably a bit too far but I do think Pres Bush likes the "give and take". :)

Hey, Laverne -

We were only one second apart on our comments about Tony! Cool! Do you know if Reliable Sources is repeated. I am not a CNN watcher (except for this morning.)

Brownback is sounding extremely weak on the Iraq issue. Wants shuttle diplomacy, putting pressure on the Iraqis.

Dodd says that were not talking to ANYONE in the region, a clearly false statement.

Sen. Brokeback and Dudd think the commission report should be followed...4 years, great cost of lives and money, yada, yada, yada. 3,000 lives lost in 4 years. We lost 3,000 lives in 1 hour on September 11th. But they weren't in "harm's way", like our soldiers are....

(BTW DUDD, diplomacy IS a sign of weakness to muzzies!)

Thank God these morons were NOT in power during WWII. We would all be speaking German and eating saurkraut by now...

Here here I got tied up on one of those threads this morning hence why I am late to this thread as had to get chores done first.

These people just see black and white - I even had one poster tell me they would lock up a 15 year to prevent her getting an abortion or pregnant in the first place. I have yet to see a 15 year old you could do that to - these people do not live in the real world.

Which is why he will NEVER make it out of the primaries

Thanks for the link to Pamela/Atlas Shrugged. Great skit w/kids and Kumbaya ..."Cheney's next Lord, Kumbaya, Oh Lord..."

Has anyone been hit with constant, hacking cough, nausea, drippy nose and eyes, headache, sudden inability to breathe mid cough? Doctor says it is brochitis symptoms with some unknown aggravator? Could that be the Baker/Hamilton Tap Dance to Hell?

I can't remember ever having been this knocked out before from a cold/flu/bronchitis whatever. This is the longest I have been out of bed since Thursday. G-d, how I pity me.

To start with Saddam's Iraq was our most immediate threat. We could NOT commit significant military forces to another battle with Saddam hovering undefeated on our flank nor could we leave significant forces watching Saddam. The political containment of Iraq was breaking down.

All very true. In addition, we were spending $7 to $9 billion a year in enforcing the no-fly zones for over a decade. To maintain these no-fly zones, the US had a large footprint in Saudi Arabia, which was not helpful to that regime.

Iraq was on the State Department's list of state sponsors of terrorism. Itr was providing safe haven for terrorists, including training facilities. It had invaded two of its neighbors. It had used WMD against the Iranians and the Kurds. It was funding Palestinian suicide bombers. It was not adhering to the UN truce agreement. The real question is how could we leave Saddam in place and still fight and win the WOT. I suggest that these Monday morning quarterbacks reread the Text of Joint Resolution On Iraq Passed By The United States Congress passed 296-133 by the House of Representatives and 77-23 by the Senate on October 10 and 11, 2002.
