Probes dismiss imams' racism claim
The Washington Times ^ | December 6, 2006 | Audrey Hudson

Three parallel investigations into the removal of six imams from a US Airways flight last month have so far concluded that the airline acted properly, that the imams' claims they were merely praying and their eviction was racially inspired are without foundation.

An internal investigation by the airline found that air and ground crews "acted correctly" when they requested that the Muslim men be removed from a Minneapolis-to-Phoenix flight on Nov. 20.

"We believe the ground crew and employees acted correctly and did what they are supposed to do," US Airways spokeswoman Andrea Rader said.

Omar Shahin -- one of the imams and the group's spokesman -- said the men did not behave out of the ordinary while on the plane, and that passengers overreacted because some of the imams conducted prayers in the concourse before boarding.

I think the Imams were trolling for a cash settlement.

These Imams were a bunch of drama queens. Hopefully it is getting easeir to recognize and dismiss theatrics such as this.

It was a stunt, but it wasn't for cash. It is part of the overall plan to make it impossible for anyone in this country to speak out against Islam or Muslims.

If these Imams think we are so bad they should get to hell out of our country and go back to where they will fit in.

The cash settlement was, I think, just gravy. What they really wanted was to further undermine us by having all airports provide muslim "prayer rooms". And, if they could get away with it at airports, it would quickly become their "right" to have them in public buildings everywhere. It could probably be done under the Americans With Disabilities Act. Anyone stupid enough to believe that 'allah' is God has a serious disability.

"this is a customer-service issue . . . where we might need to do outreach"

This is a red flag. Despite the airline's defending its actions, their expressed need to conduct "outreach" indicates that the Imams were at least partly succesful in instilling a sense of guilt and making the airline think that maybe they had been insensitive to Muslims. So I see a step towards dhimmitude even as the airline defends itself. Damn.

having all airports provide muslim "prayer rooms".

I think that airport already had a "prayer room" but they didn't want to use it because it was too far from their gate.

Now that we know what we already knew the remaining question is..

How do the folks who were forced to investigate this foolishness recover their expenses. I'd like to see these six put thru the legal process and be held accountable for their false claims.

Of course I still believe in the tooth fairy also.

I find the restrooms a hike sometimes.....

But I don't urinate at the gate.

If only it were that easy.

These imams don't think that way. To them, we are bad enough (infidels) that our throats should be slit and that our country should be remade in accordance with Islam.

If these clowns tried that on an El Al flight the security guys would have capped their asses.

I'd say that would be acting properly.

"The report noted that "two of the passengers requesting seat-belt extensions when their body size did not appear to warrant their use."
Mr. Shahin told television reporters that he needed the seat-belt extension because he weighs 280 pounds. However, the police report lists his weight as 201 pounds. Weights listed for the other imams ranged from 170 pounds to 250 pounds."
I have always thought this was the most interesting part. Another story posted here pointed out that they did not use the extensions, but placed them on the floor at their feet. These items, with heavy pieces of metal at both ends, could easily be used as weapons or wrapped around a cabin attendant's neck to take someone hostage. These people were up to no good, and now they're crying "victim."

"I think the Imams were trolling for a cash settlement."

Bull. They were testing to see just how far they could push it in prep for the next attack. BTW, The Phoenix Republic (as left wing a paper as there is) has NOT PRINTED ANYTHING except that they were just 'flying while muslim'!

Aside- The Republic refuses to call illegals, illegals. Instead they are resident aliens or migrants.
